“There is great value in having someone walk alongside you” Kindle Support Part 1

Good morning, this is Chiharu.

I published one Kindle book recently, and now, while thinking about the content for my second book, I have started a Kindle book publishing support service.

Even though I call it Kindle publishing support, I have only published one book myself, so I am still feeling my way through it.
However, precisely because I am a beginner, I understand the points where I got stuck and stumbled. Also, as a secretary-type person who values efficiency and loves simulations, I find it quite fun to help others plan and publish in the shortest time possible.
(My regular job as a care manager also involves individual support, after all.)

Currently, the person I am helping with Kindle book publishing is Haruka-san.

From February to March of this year, Haruka-san hosted collaborative live streams on Stand.fm with five women, titled “The Reality of Women Who Decided to Earn Their Own Money.”

Haruka-san, who says she finds charm in listening to people's lives and the philosophy they hold, demonstrated her talent for listening and drawing out stories as she delved into the ways of life of each of these women in those collaborative live streams.

Because it was such a fascinating project, I secretly hoped from the planning stage before the live streams that she would compile it into a Kindle book. (Looking back at the records of our exchanges, I had already mentioned this to Haruka-san on January 24th.)

After that, I listened to all the actual collaborative live streams and read the blog posts Haruka-san compiled, and I thought, “I really want her to make this into a Kindle book!” Now that the timing has aligned, we started preparing for Haruka-san's Kindle publication this month.
I have decided to help her out from behind the scenes.

The first meeting proceeded based on slides like these.

▶Explanation of the flow until publication
▶Consultation on the schedule
(When to publish, meeting plans, schedule management methods, etc.)
▶Regarding manuscript content and creation methods
▶Regarding cover creation

Regarding the schedule, we input it into a sheet on the spot while consulting and built the plan.
In addition to sharing that sheet after the meeting, I will check in once a week based on that schedule to confirm the progress of the work.

You can't slack off when someone is watching you, right? (laughs)
I think this ability to “work toward a deadline without procrastinating” is a major benefit of a companion service.
I did a lot of trial and error on my own and often ended up procrastinating, so if a companion service had existed, I would have used it myself.

Regarding manuscript creation, while talking about “Wouldn't it be good to proceed like this?”, we also thought about the rough headings together on the screen where the manuscript is actually written.
(Because the initial start is the most troublesome and makes you feel reluctant to begin.)

Since we had a meeting like this, I will share a portion of the audio.

Also, I received these thoughts from Haruka-san.

Chiharu-san, thank you for today!
And thank you for sharing the schedule, materials, and tasks for next time.

The explanations and materials were easy to understand, as expected...!!
Although I mentioned this on Zoom, I thought the wonderful thing about this course is that it eliminates all the hassle.
① It eliminates the hassle of going in circles alone, which is the biggest psychological hurdle, wondering “What should I write...” or “Is this content okay?” You can start writing right away.
② For those who cannot set deadlines for themselves, having the schedule outsourced and managed is truly grateful. I think that alone fulfills 80% of the goal.
③ It saves the trouble of looking up procedures. You can ask about things you don't understand in a pinpoint manner.
(I am the type who found that troublesome and didn't even use Mercari until recently lol)

I think there are also one-off courses that teach the benefits and procedures of Kindle publishing at a low price, but most of the actual hurdles are the above, and I thought there is great value in having someone walk alongside you.

Thank you for your very kind and happy feedback.

(This is a service in the trial-and-error stage, but I am thinking of offering it at a monitor price for about one more person.
And I am also preparing a secret menu that is different from the service Haruka-san is using.
If anyone is interested, please contact me.)

With Haruka-san's full cooperation, I plan to write articles about the process of being supported through to publication, so please look forward to them.

Thank you for reading this far.
