2023 Chieko Awards Announcement!

Hello! I'm Chieko, a makeup researcher.
I'm not quite sure how many times I've done this, but the time has come for the 2023Chieko Awardsannouncement. Looking into it, it seems the first one was in 2009 ↓

If you're wondering what this is all about,
it's where I announce the cosmetics released that year that really impressed me.It's not a 'Best Cosmetics' list.
It's not a 'Best Cosmetics' list.
I do have a very serious meeting to decide the winners, but it's a meeting with just myself.
Unlike the originalMiura Jun Awards,there are no lovely trophies, just me announcing things on my own accord.
There were times I didn't do it, so I'm not even sure what number this is, yet it's a mystery that some people still say to me,
'I'm looking forward to this year's Chieko Awards!'
Every time that happens, since I'm definitely not Mr. Narahara from Yarenzu,

'Aren't you the only fan I have in Japan? Should I just destroy you? ♡'I sometimes think that, or maybe I don't, but I'm always happy.
So, for that reason, I'll be doing it again this year (or is it?).

Now, without further ado, here is the first announcement.

◆Rosy Rosa Multi Foundation Puff

I just covered this recently, but it really is good.
It's because it doesn't matter what shape of foundation you use; anyone can use it without any special techniques.
For hygiene reasons, I make sure to wash it after two uses, but I decided to select it because I felt the durability was also fine.

This puff feels similar to a sponge that has been wet with water and wrung out tightly, so even with firm, hard-to-spread foundation, you can glide it over your skin and spread it out a bit.

◆ Esprique Aquary Skin Wear Cover

If you apply this not with the included puff, but with the aforementioned Multi Foundation Puff, you can get beautiful skin very easily without even getting your hands dirty.
This is because thetechnique of picking up and applying foundation very thinly and widelythat I revealed in the previous article can be done by anyone.
At first glance, this looks like a cushion foundation, but it's a system where a fairly loose liquid foundation comes out through a fine mesh.

If you take it in this state and apply it by spreading it and then tapping it in, you can make it look like you have naturally beautiful skin.

It naturally makes pores, redness, and small blemishes and freckles less noticeable.
Moreover, it adheres this well without a primer, and it also gives a glow.
It feels moisturizing and I don't feel much dryness or tightness over time, so I selected it thinking it's recommended not only for those with dry skin but for everyone during this dry season.
It's quite glossy and gives a casual impression, so I think it's quite good for everyday use for those who don't like overly matte textures or who don't like foundation itself because of the 'painted on' feeling or heaviness.
Even if you have sagging pores that stand out due to dryness, you'll get a finish where you'll wonder, 'Where did my pores go?'
By the way, my skin type is oily and shiny only on my nose, so when I use this, I lightly dust powder over just my nose, but it doesn't get super shiny and it doesn't break down in an unpleasant way.
Also, I have a metal allergy, so the ingredient zinc oxide doesn't agree with me, but it's not in this product.
It is in the version of the same series that is not 'Cover' (product name: Aquary Skin Wear).
That said, zinc oxide is not a bad ingredient.
It has a high UV protection effect and has the characteristic of absorbing sebum and hardening, so it is an essential ingredient for cosmetics that claim to be long-lasting, so please keep that in mind.

Well.
This is a theory I've been advocating since 2011, but

Believe it or not, I discovered a proper basis for this this year↓

I was truly surprised because I didn't know such wonderful research was being conducted, and considering that the original Miura Jun Award has a very broad selection criteria, I decided to select my own findings for the first time this year as a sign of respect.
I am a girl too (NOT Onna Zan), so there are times when I think, "I need to go on a diet..." but you don't have to feel guilty about eating potato chips!
After all, the vitamin C contained in potato chips is properly absorbed by the human body and transferred into the bloodstream!
