What I've Learned After Two Weeks of Using Generative AI by Trial and Error
I started using generative AI when Gemini was integrated into note, and I tried inputting prompts out of curiosity.
I hear that AI is being used in workplaces now, and friends have told me they've used ChatGPT as someone to talk to.
Even when searching on Google, the top results are often answers or summaries generated by AI.
Perhaps generative AI is naturally permeating our daily lives more than we realize.
*Can AI be used for article creation?
Although I signed up for several online courses on Udemy, I couldn't find the time to watch the lecture videos, so I started using it by trial and error.
I often see articles on note that explicitly state, "This was written using AI."
Depending on the genre and content of the article, I feel that writing articles with AI has now reached a level where it is completely fine.
*But I write it myself
In the past, I have often been complimented on my writing.
However, I have always had doubts about "whether the content I intended is being properly conveyed to the reader," and I started using AI to improve that point.Over the past two weeks, I've tried various things, and this is how I use it now.・For articles, I write the entire title and body text myself first.
・I have the AI provide suggestions for improvement on parts where the logic doesn't hold up or where the content doesn't match the article's goal.・I also have it provide improvement suggestions for titles that align with the article's goal.
・I instruct it to keep the writing style, content, and notation as unchanged as possible.・Based on the suggestions provided, I ultimately refine the text myself.
This article was created in this way.The amazing thing about AI is that as the frequency of consultation increases, it learns my needs. For example, when I ask for a review of this article, it properly reviews it based on the premise that "this is an article to be published on note, and the category (magazine) is 'First Steps in Living with AI'" without me having to go out of my way to tell it that.
*I don't recommend leaving everything to AI without doing anything
I have tried various patterns before arriving at my current method.
I've had it provide outlines, check titles, and suggest missing elements to achieve the intended effect, among other things.
Of course, it depends on the content, but except for things that can be handled with template text, I feel that positioning AI as a "super-competent assistant" or a "powerful partner in article creation" is just right.
*AI grows when praised
When the generated result is satisfactory, I not only evaluate it but also try to convey my gratitude and tell it that the content was good.
By doing so, it becomes better at grasping my intentions and preferences, and I have the feeling that the next suggestions will grow to better match my needs.
*Summary: Let's get along with AI
In modern society, generative AI is becoming an indispensable presence.
Rather than giving up on thinking for myself and using it just to take the easy way out, I want to maintain a stance of borrowing its power to make "better articles" and "articles that convey meaning without misunderstanding."You can read articles in the same category from this magazine
