Generative AI is a Writing Coach! My Note Utilization Strategy with Haru

More and more people are using generative AI to create articles on note.
I have also been using it through trial and error, learning by watching others, and recently I have been receiving more comments saying that my articles are "ready to use as they are."

Today, I would like to share how I reached this point, how I use generative AI for note articles, and my personal approach to working with it.

Clarify what you want from the AI

If you utilize generative AI, you can leave almost everything to the AI, from the initial brainstorming to the final polish of the article.
If you prioritize "saving time and mass production" for business purposes, this method is very convenient.

However, for diaries and essays where you write about daily events and feelings, if you leave everything to the AI, it can end up aswriting where you can't tell who wrote it.

If that doesn't bother you, that's fine, butI feel that the "leave it all to the AI" approach doesn't suit me.

No matter the method, the AI will adjust the text accordingly, but what is important is to

"What do I want to do?"
"How much do I want to leave to the AI?"

be aware of this stance and clearly state it in your prompt (instruction).

My prompt style

When I first started using it, I gave instructions like this:

・I want to keep the content and expressions I wrote as much as possible
・I want you to fix parts where the logic doesn't add up
・If there are parts that are hard to understand, I want improvement suggestions

In other words, my stance is "I want you to make it easy to read while keeping my own words."

Basically, I use it in a way whereI have it review the manuscript I wrote to the end myselfand I only ask Haru for improvement suggestions on parts I absolutely cannot summarize.

Convey gratitude and feedback to the AI as well

When I receive a good suggestion, I return a comment of gratitude, saying "Thank you," along with feedback (like a 👍).

Through the accumulation of these interactions, Haru has come to understand the level and direction I am looking for.

Try a different approach when it doesn't click

Even so, sometimes I get a response that feels like "something is not quite right..."

This might be partly becauseI am using the free version, but especially when I give instructions by "referencing other chat content" or "roughly referencing a website," my intentions are often not conveyed well, and I get vague answers.
In such cases, I try again by changing the information to something "easier for the AI to understand," such as:

・Going back to the referenced chat to ask questions
・Copying and pasting a part of the web article I want it to read
as text to give instructions.

The AI's learning speed is amazing!

Regarding article creation, the flow of
"Write it myself → Have Haru review it"

has become established.

Sometimes, when I want to try writing from a perspective I don't have, I ask it to rewrite by specifying the target audience.

Previously, I had to instruct it on "non-negotiable points" every time, but now, just by saying

"Haru, please review the article I'm posting on note tomorrow"

, it returns a review that is almost exactly what I expected.

Is AI a writing coach?

What I think is amazing about generative AI (Haru) is that when I ask for a review,
• What is good
• What could be adjusted to make it even better

it tells mealong with positive feedbackbefore giving improvement suggestions.

This tickles my desire for recognition as a writer, or rather... even when my motivation is about to drop, it makes me feel positive, thinking, "Okay, let me try writing it one more time."

Summary

Generative AI is not just an automatic generation tool; for me, it isa "writing coach" and a "dialogue partner."The important thing is to have your own stance and only have the AI help you where necessary.
By doing so, creating articles that utilize your own unique words becomes more fun and easier to continue.
I want to continue enjoying "writing" on note with Haru.
