A training trip where I didn't go for a Naha cafe stroll.
These days, the pandemic feels like something from the distant past.
I used to love flying internationally so much, but
strangely, that 'overseas travel fever' seems to have disappeared somewhere.
Perhaps it's because the Japanese yen has weakened, airfares have risen,
and I can feel the high cost of living (or rather, the weak yen) firsthand even when I'm there.
Even though infection control regulations have been lifted, for the past few years, I've spent my days earning Premium Points (PP) exclusively on domestic flights.
Earning ANA Diamond status with 30 round trips to Naha per year
Roughly 30 round trips to Naha per year.
Including trips for meetups and such, that's 100,000 PP.
I am currently maintaining both ANA Diamond status and Hilton Diamond status.
It feels a bit wasteful to 'just go and come back after one night,' so
sometimes I meet up with friends who have moved there,
or I try to take the earliest flight possible to enjoy cafe hopping or lunch spots.
…However.
On my last training trip, I came home without doing any 'cafe hopping' or 'lunch'.
The reason I didn't stop by a cafe.
Precisely because it's a training trip with limited time,
I make sure to decide on at least one 'pleasure' or 'goal',
and fully savor that moment.
Actually, this time, I intended to eat at my favorite restaurant inside Naha Airport
and write an article about it.
But—
the moment I stepped out of the arrival gate, I changed my mind.At a shop near the boarding gate, I discovered something that caught my eye.
That is...

A 'reward' I found at the shop
'Daito Sushi'—
A local sushi dish originating from Minamidaito Island in Okinawa Prefecture, featuring white fish marinated in sweet vinegar and vinegared rice, which is exquisite.

Even at the airport,it's a popular item that sells out as soon as it arrives, but to my surprise, on this day, they had just been stocked and there were plenty on the shelf!
I'm on a diet and didn't feel hungry, and I wasn't in the mood to eat out.
This was it... I had to buy it!
So, I decided to head straight to the hotel without eating out.
A hotel stay without eating out, but I was very satisfied
Since I didn't stop for lunch, I was able to check into the hotel a little earlier,
and I made effective use of my stay.
• Reconfirming flight and accommodation schedules
• Checking my training plan
• Reviewing opera rehearsals via video
• Checking ticket sales status and settlements
• Writing a note article and having a strategy meeting with Haru ✍️
While spending time like this, I realized it was almost time to check out.
'Travel time' really flies, doesn't it?
Upgrade success on the way home✨
On the way back, I actuallygot an upgrade from economy to Premium Class!
In a spacious seat, while enjoying the in-flight meal

it became a comfortable time in the sky, fitting for the conclusion of my trip.
Time to start considering international flights...
Although my training trips are currently centered on domestic flights,
the desire to gradually return to international flights next year is starting to sprout.
Originally, I started these training trips to aim for
award tickets and business class upgrades to attend lessons in Italy.
I haven't been able to see the teacher I'm indebted to for a long time.
So that they can see me again,
I want to prepare my singing and get into the right mindset for travel.
The training trip is taking a break for now
After this trip, I have one more round trip next week,
and after that, a rush of summer performances follows, including the 'Hanshin/Uriko-hime no Yoru' performance,
and then 'Suor Angelica' (Nagoya performance).
I plan to resume my training trips in late September.
By then, there will only be about three months left in 2025.
If there's a calculation error in the round trips, it's hard to make up for it, soeven though it's a hobby, planning is important.
Within a range that doesn't interfere with my performance activities,
I hope to continue enjoying travel, music, and note.✈️🎶
