The 'Good Luck' I Discovered on a Turbulent Journey
I have finished the Nagoya performance of the opera 'Suor Angelica' and am now on the Shinkansen heading to Tokyo.
After a small after-party with the children from the children's opera troupe,
I took the subway to Nagoya Station.
I transferred to the subway to get to Nagoya Station.
I wondered if it would be crowded since it's the last day of the long weekend.
As expected of Nagoya,
everyone stays out late because it's close,
I thought, but then...
Due to the heavy rain in Hiroshima,
there are delays, mainly on the Sanyo Shinkansen 😱😱😱
The platforms and waiting areas were packed with people...
Since it was generally a one-hour delay,
following the station announcement,
I tried lining up for the non-reserved seat on the Hikari that arrived immediately,
but it was already full when I got there,
and it looked like I would have to stand all the way to Tokyo.
In that case, I thought I would wait an hour
(this time for sure) and go home sitting in a reserved seat,
but then...
The Hikari and Kodama were not delayed much,
and the scheduled Shinkansen (Hikari) arrived with a 20-minute delay.
Moreover, it made up time along the way
and arrived at Shinagawa only 5 minutes late ✨
The Nozomi trains coming from beyond Shin-Osaka
were delayed by more than an hour,
so it seemed like it would still take a while for those who booked Nozomi trains other than those originating from Shin-Osaka to board...
A trouble that could have blown away the excitement of the performance 💦
For this trip,
I was saved because I had joined using my husband's eligibility before the age requirement for the Otona no Kyujitsu Club was raised and the recruitment of couple members ended.
I am grateful for the 30% discount ✨
When I boarded in Nagoya,
the reserved seats on the Hikari were indeed full, but
the person next to me got off at Mishima,
and I was able to return home more comfortably than I expected.
I started this article as a 'tweet diary'
(a short diary as a substitute for a tweet function),
but it has become quite long for a tweet,
so I think I will make it a regular article 💦
I plan to make this 'tweet diary' that chronicles my daily life
exclusive to members starting in October.
I would be happy to meet friends with whom I can enjoy the little things in daily life.
