Something a little strange that was happening with note's "Tweets"
Those who recently started using note might not know this, but
until late August, note had a feature called "Tweets."
You could post short text of up to 140 characters and just one image.
It didn't have the same reach as an article, but it was a place where you could easily leave your thoughts.
I quite liked this feature.
When I saw the announcement that it was ending,
I was relieved because it said "a replacement feature is planned,"
but before I knew it, that talk had fizzled out.
So in the end, I saved a lot of drafts right before it ended,
and I am still posting those "Tweets" little by little even now.
Continuing to tweet within membership
I started a membership in October, and I have now prepared two plans.
Light Plan (300 yen/month):
A plan where you can read weekly and monthly "reflection notes."
Standard Plan (600 yen/month):
A plan that includes unlimited access to paid articles (with some exceptions) and allows for interaction and mutual support on the bulletin board.
I basically set paid articles to 100 yen.
This is mainly set toprevent personal information and analytical data from being published without restrictionsand to prevent thefull text from being scraped and reusedby search engines and AI.
Currently, I haven't set a first-month-free option for the membership, so if you are curious about the paid articles published exclusively for members, I would appreciate it if you could try purchasing one article.
The Light Plan limits the benefits in exchange for a lower price, but
I think it might be nice to have something that can be read a bit more casually.
Writing about daily events and things I've felt in a short
"tweet diary" style might be good—
that's what I'm thinking.
A strange phenomenon that happens with tweets
However, when you make tweets member-only, something a little strange happens.
Even though I set it to "do not display on creator page" when posting,
for some reasonI get "likes" from non-members.From the time I post until I set it to member-only, it takes at most about 10 seconds.
Perhaps during that short time between posting and switching to limited access on the settings screen, the post information is picked up somewhere and displayed on the home screens of accounts with similar attributes or those I am connected with.
I don't know the exact mechanism, but
at first, I was anxious, wondering, "Is it really limited access?"
Because it's a discontinued feature, I want to leave it behind quietly
Of course, since tweeting is a discontinued feature,
I cannot ask for improvements.
But for me, it is also a feature full of memories.
It would be sad to let the drafts sleep forever, so
from now on, I willpublish them little by little as member-only articles. In a way that is only possible now, precisely because it has ended.
With that feeling, I am quietly posting one old "tweet" today as well.
