Self-Introduction: Why I, a Nobody, Write on Note
Nice to meet you. I'm Matu.
After writing so many notes, I'm finally doing a self-introduction.
While looking back at my notes wondering what to write next, I suddenly realized.
Wait, I haven't introduced myself yet.
Oh? I haven't introduced myself.
I've been running along while leaving readers wondering, 'What kind of person is writing this?', so I'd like to take this opportunity to write a little about myself.
I am an ordinary housewife who is studying design while raising children.
Even though I say 'I want to make design my career' now,
the path to get here was by no means smooth.
I would look for jobs and apply, only to be rejected.
I would apply again, and be rejected again.
Before I knew it, I had been turned down by over 100 companies and projects.
I thought, 'Maybe this is impossible,' many times.
They say that as you get older, new challenges become more difficult.
It's scary to fail, and sometimes I feel down when I compare myself to others.
Even so, the reason I continue to take on challenges is that I thought I would regret it even more if I just gave up without doing anything.
A few years from now,
'I wish I had done it back then'
I didn't want to become that kind of person.
Even if it's just a small step, I want to choose my own path and move forward.
With that thought in mind, I started studying design.
And recently, I was able to receive my first reward of 500 yen.
In terms of money alone, it is not a large amount.
However, for someone like me who was rejected by over 100 companies, those 500 yen were a bigger step than I could have imagined.
It was in the midst of such days that I started this note.
When I spend my days in a rush, I forget what I felt and what I was thinking.
Chasing after new information, I sometimes leave my own feelings behind.
That is why I decided to stop and leave my thoughts in words.
Days when I couldn't give it my all.
Days when things didn't go well.
Days when I moved forward just a little bit.
Things about raising children.
Things about studying design.
Sometimes things about Mercari.
And, the honest feelings I had at those times.
This note is like a record book for me.
If there is anyone out there who is struggling in the same way or taking on a challenge, I would be happy if this place could help you relax a little.
I am still halfway there, but I intend to keep writing at my own pace.
Thank you for reading this far.
I look forward to connecting with you from here on.
