It doesn't work even when I add more... The concept of 'subtractive health' I discovered at that time
"I'm lacking iron, I need vitamins, and I need lactic acid bacteria..."
Before you know it, do you find yourself always "adding something" to address the health issues you're worried about?
Even with my knowledge as a registered dietitian, I struggled with weight control and was a lifelong dieter, and I was constantly troubled by chronic fatigue, constipation, and autonomic nervous system imbalances.
Why is my body not getting into shape even though I'm adding the necessary nutrients?
When I started having that question, I encountered the concept of "subtractive health."
⸻
■ Is the reason your body isn't in shape because it's "tired," not because it's "lacking"?
There is a deep-rooted image that health means "you just need to supplement something."
But in reality, the reason your body isn't in shape is often not because it's "lacking something," but because your organs and metabolic functions are tired and in a state where they cannot receive those nutrients.
For example, it's like this:
• If your liver is tired, it cannot properly metabolize the nutrients you take in.
• If your intestines are inflamed, it's difficult to absorb lactic acid bacteria and nutrients.
• If your autonomic nervous system is imbalanced, your sleep and appetite rhythms will also be disrupted.
In other words,"Even if you add good things, they won't reach a foundation that isn't in shape.".
⸻
■ It was because I "subtracted" that my body changed
After giving birth to my second child, I started a constitution improvement program using medical herbs for the purpose of dieting.
At first, I started it with a light heart because I heard from a friend that she lost weight, but in reality,"Reducing unnecessary burdens on the body = subtraction"was what worked the best.
I felt that by easing the burden on my liver and intestines, my tired internal organs gradually became healthier.
⸻
■ This is what subtractive health is
The "subtractive health" method I practice consists of the following:
• Before suddenly increasing medications or supplements, first have a perspective of "reducing."
• Prepare the foundation of the body, such as blood vessels, blood, liver, and intestines.
• Change the priority of eating, resting, and circulating.
Herbs are a reliable ally that helps with that "subtraction."
They have little stimulation to the body and gently support you.
⸻
■ From "strenuous health methods" to "relaxing health methods"
In the past, I was in a state of "I'm trying hard, but my body feels terrible."
I was exhausted from trying various things like dietary restrictions, exercise, and supplements.
But now, I first relax my body and let go of what I don't need.
By doing so, I have come to feel that my own natural healing power is starting to work properly.
⸻
■ Finally | To those who work hard, a perspective of "subtraction"
You are trying so hard to do good things for your body...
It is to you that I want to convey the subtractive health method.
Getting into shape might not be about adding something, but
"reducing unnecessary burdens and drawing out your original strength.".
