Why I wrote this story…
In Japan, it’s often considered a virtue to take your parents on trips as a form of 'filial piety (OYA KOH-KOH).'
But for me, these trips became a heavy emotional burden.
I love them, but I’m exhausted. This is a story about the complex feelings of an adult child trying to find their own peace.
