The Strongest Weapon I Found on a Battlefield Where I Only Ever Lose
I think there are two types of people in this world.
People like the "chosen heroes" who possess both intellect and talent.
And then there are people like me, who were thrown into the world of adventure with nothing but a tree branch for a weapon and no map to guide them.
I feel every day that I am truly the latter.
I try, I fall, and my knees are covered in bruises. Sometimes I break bones or end up in an ambulance. It is a series of failures.
Yet, here I am, writing these words.
No one asked me to do this, and it doesn't make me any money.
But I enjoy doing it. I believe this is something I can do for the future.
When I was a child, I was taught to "get along with everyone." But as an adult, I've learned that society is a battlefield.
Unreasonableness and inequality walk around boldly, my salary is immediately snatched away by the bandits known as living expenses, and if you're raising children, getting a good night's sleep is a total gamble.
A "full night of uninterrupted sleep" is a rare card that is hard to draw.
When you face the reality of nursing care, you are confronted by the three great boss battles: meals, the toilet, and bathing.
And your opponent is your own parent.
The reality of a loved one's aging definitely wears down your heart.
It is a terrifying modern society, but there is one way to survive it.
That is to "enjoy it."
This isn't just a way to comfort myself; Dr. Seligman, a leading researcher in psychology, reported that "joy and enjoyment lead to success."
In other words, enjoying yourself is a weapon for survival.
Obstacles and difficulties are mandatory events that visit everyone without exception, but "how you perceive" things is up to you.
In my case, I try setting up a "game where I win if I say hello first," or if I get angry, I activate my "frustration point card." If I hold back five times, I buy sweets on the way home to eat with my family. Because my frustration turns into my family's smiles, I am even grateful for the things that make me angry.
Of course, if things are truly unbearable, it is okay to change your environment. Taking a step forward for your own sake is not running away; it is moving forward.
But decisions and actions require energy. That is why I want to light a fire in people's hearts with my writing, even if just a little.
If more people enjoy their lives, the world will surely become a brighter place.
This is what I can do for a future where someone smiles and says, "Reading this made me feel better."
If you want to call it "just talk" or "hypocrisy," then bring it on.
I will aim for the gold medal as the Japanese representative for hypocrites.
The future is by no means something vague; it is nothing more than the accumulation of this very moment.
I don't know what will happen. But if I don't move, nothing will change.
If even something small can change what lies ahead.
Thinking that, I write again today.
The time to stand up is always "now."
