[Self-Introduction and Why I Started Note] A Realistic Struggle Record of a 40-Year-Old Working Mom Trying to 'Learn to Love Herself'
🌱Self-Introduction
Nice to meet you, I'm Nagi, a very ordinary 40-year-old office worker.
Thank you for taking an interest among the many articles out there.
I live in the countryside with my serious husband and my 2-year-old son, who is like a little monster.
My hobbies are golf, drinking, coffee, and I love watching YouTube during my alone time.
💭Why I started note
For the second half of my life,“I want to learn to love myself and live thinking ‘this is the happiest time of my life’”──
With that thought in mind, I decided to give note a try!
(It sounds a bit grand, but I'm serious, haha)
Oh, and also because Getters Iida said this year is a good year to challenge yourself with new things!
That was a joke, though──
This is sudden, but can you say that you “love yourself”?
Can you say from the bottom of your heart that you are “glad to have been born into this life”?
As for me... unfortunately, I haven't really liked myself for a long time.
Naturally, my self-esteem is low, and I tend to view things negatively.
While struggling with that side of myself, I feel like I've managed to live a fun life somehow...
I've worked hard, and although it was a late marriage, I was able to get married and was blessed with a cute child.
Even so, there is a feeling of being unfulfilled that has always been in my heart──
There is a part of me that cannot proudly say, “I am so happy!”

Perhaps the reason for that is“because I haven't been able to love myself”.
When I was young, I thought,
“If only I were better looking or had a better figure”
“If only I had a lot of money”
“If only I had a handsome boyfriend”──
I thought I could love myself if I satisfied those “external” things.
But I realized that what is truly important is not the outside, but how you face your “inner” self.
I suppose whether you are happy or not depends on your own way of thinking.
I don't want to do anything grand; I just want to be grateful for the casual daily life and feel happy about the small things that happen every day──
I just want to become that kind of person.
In this note, with that thought in my heart, I will write about the realistic struggle of a 40-something working mom who is taking on various challenges to live as her true self.
If there is anyone who thinks, “Maybe that's me too,” I would be happy if we could walk the path to loving ourselves one step at a time together.

✨What I want to share from now on
* Why I dislike myself, and how I can learn to love myself
* Two events that made me think about how I want to live the second half of my life
* The cause of my difficulty in living—am I a perfectionist?
* I want to build a mentality that doesn't get unsettled by trivial things
* Happy people all love themselves
* The reality of my days as a working mom
* What kind of work style allows for balancing work and childcare?
* [Extra Edition] The ending of a romance for someone with low self-esteem is always the same
I hope to share things that will lead to “empathy” and “peace of mind” for those who have had similar experiences or are currently struggling.
💌Finally
For those who similarly feel“I want to love myself” or “I want to change something”, I would be happy if I could provide even a little bit of time that makes your heart feel lighter.
Next time, I would like to talk about“Why I dislike myself, and how I can learn to love myself”.
