What I learned this year is, above all else,AI tools. At first, I thought, 'As a cabin attendant, AI has nothing to do with me; it's for office workers.' However, one day, I heard a colleague say, 'I'm

using ChatGPT to read and utilize my work schedule

,' and when I tried it with skepticism, it was much easier to use than I thought. Once I felt, 'AI is actually useful?!', I kept searching, and I have been learning on my own little by little about what kind of AI tools exist and how to use them to make my life and work easier. At first glance, all AIs look the same, but in reality, each has its own area of expertise, andlearning to use them selectively through trial and error was my biggest lesson this year.

💻 A revolution in my side hustle that created peace of mind

As someone nearing 60, in order to stabilize my life after retirement,
I have tried various side hustles such as being an online tutor and selling goods.
However, the income was limited compared to the effort, and the reality was that I was just doing it as a hobby.
But I thought, if I incorporate AI into this,

maybe I can expand the scope of my side hustle.
The first thing I tried was

reviewing and creating homework for my online Japanese students.

by utilizing AI.Actually, when I was in Japan, I was a children's English teacher.The job of teaching has more 'invisible work' hidden in it than you might think.

I used to take all of this on myself,
and it was common for a day to pass
staring at textbooks
to keep the students' concentration.

However, since I started consulting AI about various things,
now, in addition to structuring teaching materials, creating lesson notes, and automatically generating practice problems and quizzes for students,
I can also record learning progress,

and I can entrust it with things that used to make my head ache; it feels like I've gained a reliable secretary.
I have gained peace of mind.

🌈 Life choices expanding with AI

And, although I am 'still struggling' with this,
I learned that an influencer I happened to see on Instagram was making coloring books and publishing them on Amazon,

and I am now hooked on AI! I immediately gave it a try.This was actually not that easy, but

by sending various requests to different AIs like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Skywork, and Canva,
I was able to experience and learn the aptitude of each AI even more.
It is still very deep,
and I cannot say I have mastered it yet,
but it is no exaggeration to say that this learning has truly changed my outlook on life.

What I learned this year is this—
AI is not just a convenient tool,

but by combining it with human ingenuity,

it becomes a power that expands life.

Trying things out, being creative,such new challenges have reminded me of the 'joy of learning'.

Through this learning, from next year onwards, I want to be freer,
and more flexible.
Together with AI, I would like to find and cultivate my own way of working and living, little by little.
