Why is HANA different from other girl groups? A thorough examination of the roles of the 7 members
Personalities are not "added" together,
they are "clashing"
To be honest,
I have avoided this type of girl group.
The reason is simple: no matter where you look, the composition, looks, and songs are all similar. The level of perfection is high, but there is no hook.
However, HANA was different.
Not a single voice overlaps.
Not a single role overlaps.
This is not a "well-balanced group."
It is a group where personalities collide, resulting in a single mass of sound.
This is closer to a high-level ROCK band.
Today, looking at each member one by one,
I would like to organize why this collection is so strong.
CHIKA
Ability that overpowers the narrative

Her singing and dancing are at a high level, and she can also rap.
I was convinced she would debut midway through the audition.
A person who has missed opportunities on the main stage until now overturns the evaluation criteria with pure ability alone.
She is the existence that embodies the philosophy of the No No Girls project
most straightforwardly.
I don't know where the limit of her sky-piercing high-tone voice is. Plus, her talk is interesting.
She is the type who doesn't just end with singing ability, but can lighten the atmosphere of the room. Her aptitude for variety shows is also high.
An overwhelming presence in any situation.
That is the scariness of CHIKA.
NAOKO
Dance that makes you doubt the range of human motion

Her singing is also more than good enough.
But NAOKO's true value lies in her dance.
A completely monstrous path.
Seeing her dance solo on the recently released THE FIRST TAKE, I thought so again.
If BE:FIRST's SOUTA is the pinnacle of "hard",
NAOKO is the pinnacle of "soft."
Her movements are so smooth that I can't believe she is the same human being.
Also, there are many moments where I think, what is this person saying? A so-called eccentric.
A group needs one person like this.
A role that breaks logic.
YURI
Her expression is a sharp knife

I love YURI's story in No No Girls.
A girl who wore an iron mask for a certain reason changes little by little. Eventually, she becomes able to smile on stage. Please watch the main story for details.
Even so, the cool expression that stabs the audience's heart head-on does not disappear.
That is not acting.
It is a temperature that only YURI can produce.
She is not the type to explode with emotion.
She quietly applies pressure.
When someone like this is present,
the depth of the entire group becomes one level deeper.
KOHARU
The spice called catchy

Her flexibility in movement is the best among the members.
Dark and deep songs like DROP and NON STOP are not bad, but honestly, catchy songs suit her too well. My body brings out that charm the most.
Self-proclaimed and recognized "Sun Representative"
It is rare for the word mood maker
to apply so directly.
The reason the group doesn't get too heavy
is because KOHARU is there.
JISOO
Remains in memory just by her voice

The unfair voice quality is exactly that.
The moment I heard her slightly nasal, idiosyncratic voice,
I remembered the BoA of yesteryear.
The way she speaks, the way she stands, her gestures.
The elegance and intelligence that ooze from there.
She probably has a good upbringing. She hasn't been able to hide it.
She is not flashy, but she is the type that wouldn't work without her.
By the way, my personal favorite is her.
I like her best when she has short hair.
MOMOKA
Heavy bass that cracks the air

The group's spearhead.
With a gritty, tough voice,
she changes the atmosphere of the room in an instant.
Within HANA,
she is the only one responsible for the deep bass.
Because this position exists,
the other voices shine.
Also, she is the tallest in the group and apparently has modeling experience. This isn't just about her looks. As a presence, she stands out on screen, balancing a sense of security with a strong presence.
MAHINA
RAP as an accent color

In HANA's songs, the thing that 'catches the ear' the most is MAHINA's rap.
Her unique flow
acts as an accent color for the entire song.
To use an analogy,
she has a presence similar to the lineage of
PES from RIP SLYME,
SHIGEO from Steady & Co,
and LITTLE from KICK THE CAN CREW.
She has a presence close to that lineage.
And yet, she is a friendly and innocent youngest member character.
There's no way anyone could dislike her.
My personal favorite, number two. There are moments when she even looks a bit like Fuwa-chan.
Why does HANA
not 'look alike'?
Recent girl groups
aim for uniform perfection.
HANA is different.
They don't aim for uniform perfection,
but instead sharpened their individual roles.
That's why their voices don't overlap.
That's why their expressions don't overlap.
That's why you never get tired of watching them.
Their personalities clash,
resulting in a sharpened sound.
This is the way a rock band is built.
The reason I was drawn to this group
is probably because of that.
Not as a girl group,
but as a powerful mass of sound.
HANA is that kind of collective.
