[Morning☕️] Tadotsu | Cafe Sou Sou
After getting off at Marugame on the Anpanman train
and staying one night at a room-only hotel in front of the station, the next day
I moved to Tadotsu Station, two stops west🚃

I didn't remember the station building itself,
but since I had seen the building in front of the station before,
it seems this wasn't my first time getting off here...
Maybe the last time was for the Setouchi Triennale in 2022?🙄

This time, on the way from Tadotsu Station to the port,
I had listed two cafes with early opening times as candidates,
intending to go to whichever one I could make it to...🙌

I couldn't see inside,
but there was a menu board, so it looked like it would work♪

The interior was stylish and bright...
It's different from the moody, dark shops I prefer,
but the feeling of regulars gathering
gave off a traditional atmosphere😆
Stylish cafes in urban areas
have an image of attracting young people looking for Instagrammable spots,
but do stylish cafes in the countryside
attract stylish locals?✨

There are two types of morning menus,
A is the safe choice, and B is the special one.
Since I planned to be active that day, I went with B♪

While waiting, I looked at the other menus.
The daily lunch also looked delicious✨
It seems like more regulars gather then than in the morning😆

It's 150 yen more expensive than the A set,
but since it adds a sandwich, mini bread, sausage,
clam chowder, and yogurt,
if you're hungry, B is definitely the better deal👍
It was early in the morning and I was still sleepy,
but as I ate, I started to wake up...
It was delicious and I was very satisfied😋
I'd like to come back for lunch next time,
but who knows when that will be💨
Cafe Sou Sou
Location | 2-1-3 Tadotsu-cho, Nakatado-gun, Kagawa Prefecture
Business Hours | 7:30 - 17:00
Closed | Monday, Tuesday

When I left the shop, I noticed a shrine
I had passed by on the way, so I stopped for a quick prayer🙏

When I checked the map,
it seems the road passing in front of the cafe was the Konpira Kaido
leading from Tadotsu Port to Kotohira,
and the stone lanterns that watched over the people coming and going
seem to be designated as a Japan Heritage site✨
I had no idea it was such a historic road...
Once I know that, I'll want to follow it,
so I'll save the cafe lunch for that time😂
