I want to graduate from being an impatient mother...
The cherry blossoms bloomed later this year than last year.
When I went back to my parents' home during spring break last year, they were in full bloom, but this year I returned to Kansai before they reached full bloom.
Just as I feel impatient about the delay in the blooming, I feel impatient about my son not being able to go outside.
I am not setting the goal for my son as being able to attend public elementary school again.
However, I believe that if he is in an environment where he feels safe and can find joy, he will be able to learn again.
I also think that he won't be able to learn anything unless he puts himself in such an environment.
Learning is inherently fun. Learning and knowledge will surely make life easier for my son.
I want him to start learning soon. I think that, but things don't go well easily.
Yesterday, he was able to go to the after-school day service smoothly, which is rare. He even volunteered to help out with things. Honestly, days like that make me happy! I'm overjoyed!
Maybe my son is trying hard to play the role of the 'good boy' for me. Maybe he is trying hard because I am happy and look pleased.
Why can't I be kinder to my son when he is in a bad state and can't try his best? I try hard to smile, but deep down, I'm not really laughing. I'm sure I'm letting out a sigh somewhere.
When my hormone balance is off, I really get irritated.
Please forgive this impatient mother who is always in a rush because she wants to see his real smile soon and wants him to play energetically outside.
Just as we enjoy waiting for the cherry blossoms to bloom, why can't I enjoy waiting for my son's time to bloom? He will bloom someday. Don't rush, me. Let's graduate from being an impatient mother. I want to be a mother who can wait...
The joy will surely be as great as the time I spent waiting.
The number of children who refuse to go to school is increasing now.
The children are trying hard to make their voices heard! Since they cannot fight like adults with words yet, they are making their appeal through the action of not going to school. There must be something wrong with the current school system or society somewhere. After all, the numbers keep increasing.
They are already teaching us adults quite a lot, aren't they? Haha.
I hope they will also make things easier for mothers like me who support children who refuse to go to school soon. There are even mothers of children in lower grades who refuse to go to school who have had to quit their jobs in tears.
Even while writing about these frustrations...
I also feel, somewhere deep down, that it was a good thing my son stopped going to school.
Because there is so much to learn from it.
I am always able to be grateful for the things I used to take for granted. Just yesterday, when I was told that he was playing at the park with his friends from the day service, it brought me to tears, haha.
I am someone who can find joy in such trivial things.
That must be a form of happiness.
Of course, it's painful and sad, and there are times when I really just can't take it anymore.
Since I'm going through the trouble of worrying, it would be a real waste if I didn't make the most of this experience.
I tell myself that, and that's why I'm writing this note.
Thanks to that, I never run out of things to write about every day.
The entrance ceremony is coming up soon.
I wonder if this year's new first graders will be able to take pictures with their new school bags alongside the cherry blossoms?
There might be children who are looking forward to it, and others who are facing the entrance ceremony with anxiety.
I truly hope that all the children will be able to attend school happily.
