Celebrating my first note post | I'm Toti, a career advisor!

Nice to meet you, I'm Toti, a career advisor.

In this note, I share content themed around "career pillars," "self-analysis," and "articulating values" to help those who are unsure about their careers make decisions on their own. This article serves as an introduction to the entire series, summarizing my self-introduction and activities.
I would be incredibly happy if you could get to know me even a little bit^^

Self-Introduction

I joined Recruit by chance, and through many twists and turns, I have been involved in the human resources and HR industry for over 20 years.

I started my career in corporate sales, facing companies' hiring challenges, and later worked as a career consultant, handling career consultations and coaching for over 1,000 people in total. "I don't know what I want to do," "I don't know what kind of work I'm suited for"...

I have faced countless people who were stuck and unable to move forward.

As a nationally certified career consultant, my current activities are based on my experience being involved in job changes and career decision-making from both the corporate and individual perspectives.

Why I do this

To be honest, I am one of those people who entered the workforcewithout having my own criteria for judgment.

Until university, my life was consumed by soccer, and I entered the job hunting process without any opportunity to face my own career, resulting in zero job offers. For a year and a half after graduation, I spent time in what you might call a wandering period, going back and forth between studying for civil service exams and working part-time as a cram school teacher.

I participated in a career design seminar hosted by Recruit because I wanted some kind of trigger. There, for the first time, I heard adults talking about the "fun of work," and I felt something stirring inside me.

I wasn't confident in my communication skills at the time, but in those 30 minutes, I thought, "I want to try sales," so I took the recruitment exam and joined Recruit.

If I hadn't attended that seminar, I wouldn't be who I am today. That is why I want to deliver something to people who, like my former self, are looking for a "trigger."

What I value

In my 20 years of being involved in careers from both corporate and individual sides, there is something I have always valued.

That isexpanding each person's "options" and "possibilities."

What I often feel in the field of job change consultation is thatmany people underestimate their own potential compared to reality.

"This is all I can do," "I only know this industry."
I have met hundreds of people who have unconsciously narrowed their options in this way.

But in reality, the moment your values and strengths are put into words, the scenery you see changes completely.

"Encountering work you can be passionate about while being excited about your own potential"

Helping with that is the biggest reason why I continue to do this job.

That is why in this note, I consistently prioritize "understanding yourself correctly" rather than techniques or superficial know-how.
