While Watching the Geminid Meteor Shower
Since my husband is heading out early for a business trip, today is another Sunday of solo parenting.
While tidying up scattered toys and laundry, I felt exhausted by the noise of the regular TV programs I had left on, so I suddenly switched to YouTube.
When I searched for "live camera," the Geminid meteor shower came up.
Oh, right. I had seen it in the news online, but it was tonight.
On weekends, the kids are glued to YouTube from the morning. They watch nothing but high-energy, nonsensical content, so I tried to distract them (though it was a futile resistance in the end) by returning to live cameras.
My love for Kobe once led me to get hooked on just watching the live camera of the Port Tower.
I love Kobe because I had a favorite radio station there when I was in junior high and high school, and I loved it so much that I even decided to go to college there.
I live in a completely unrelated place now, but I find myself blankly watching the red Port Tower blinking in the dead of night on the live camera while putting the kids to sleep.
That's why I just left the Geminid meteor shower live camera on without really watching it. As I reached for the remote to turn it off, a shooting star suddenly flashed.
"I hope I can get along with my husband again," I thought, savoring the wish.
He's been heading out early for business trips and traveling a lot lately, and he even left some mysterious gift bag behind. And next Sunday, even though it's close to Christmas, he has plans with friends... Grumble, grumble, grumble.
We are so distant that it's no use even being suspicious like that.
Maybe I should have made a different wish after all.
Well, time to work hard again starting tomorrow.
