How I Got Rid of My Skin Problems
Thankfully,
I get complimented on my skin quite often.
(Not my looks, just my skin)
I don't do anything, but my skin condition is stable.
People often say, "You say you don't do anything, but you must be doing something, right?"
but I really don't do anything.
To give you an idea of how little I do.
In the morning, I quickly wash my face with lukewarm water (or cold water, since it's hot now). After that, I apply Vaseline
. Then I use foundation to even out my skin texture, and that's it.
At night, I wash my face with soap and that's it.
Seriously, I do so little it's almost laughable.
In the winter, I lose moisture (especially on my hands),
so I do apply some cream (Yuskin).
Even then, I don't use any lotion; I just apply it directly.
That's all I do.
It's super easy.
I might be like this now, but
my skin used to be so bad,
it was truly terrible.
In the summer, my makeup would be a disaster due to sweat and oil,
and in the winter, it would be so dry it would flake off...
I used to take care of it, oh yes,
I was very meticulous about it.
To what extent, you ask?
Pre-serum
(to help lotion soak in)

Lotion

Steamer

Sheet mask

Lotion

Emulsion

Cream

Night cream
(I did all of this twice)
Even after doing all that, my skin was still breaking out.
Isn't that just awful?
Then, a turning point arrived for me.
I decided to seek help from a professional.
Not knowing where to go,
I first went to a local dermatologist.
I didn't know if they were reputable,
but the waiting room was overflowing with people.
You'd expect it to be okay, right?
What was waiting for me there was
a tag team of a doctor and a nurse with super condescending, high-handed attitudes.
Without any explanation, after asking about my usual care routine,
"Oh, that's no good. If you keep doing that, you'll end up like this,"
they said, opening a medical textbook (presumably) and showing me a gruesome image (pardon the expression) of the final stage of skin damage.
Then, they gave me what looked like samples of doctor-brand cosmetics they seemed to carry.
At that moment, the nurse said,
"You'll be buying this set too, right?"
.........Huh?
(My brow furrowed. Internally. I managed to keep it off my face. Good for me.)
Thinking I would never go back there again, I did a ton of research.
On how to fundamentally fix my skin.
That's when I found this book.
In the end, doing nothing is best is the conclusion I settled on.
I used to be a skincare gypsy, but
Vaseline and soap (Cow Brand Red Box (moist type))
are all I ended up with.
Having go-to products is so easy because it means I don't have to worry about it.
It saves me from wasting my already limited brain resources (lol).
It's the same reason Jobs always wore the same clothes.
(It's funny how mentioning Jobs suddenly makes it sound so profound.)
That said, I have absolutely no intention of dismissing the many cosmetics on the market.
Because they are beautiful, aren't they?
The containers, boxes, and brochures are wonderful items that stimulate the desire to buy.
The textures and scents are also soothing.
And the beauty of the celebrity spokespeople is just incredible.
I want to be like Haruka Ayase,
Miho Kanno's skin is so beautiful.
Koyuki, they say that's her bare face... and so on.
Cosmetics are, after all, a distillation of women's aspirations.
There's no need to worry about unromantic things like cost prices.
Makeup is also somethingto lift your spiritsafter all.
So, if you have products you currently love,
please feel free to keep using them.
However, if you are worried about your skin condition,
this was just a suggestion that it might be worth adding to your list of options.
Furthermore,
the cost-effectivenessis just insane (lol).
I think it's worth considering.
The tube of Vaseline I use costs about 600 yen.
I use (almost) nothing else but this.
It lasts for half a year.
Let's use the money we saved to buy Vitamin C and protein (lol).
