C7's first video work, releasing on August 29th!

Hello. This is C7. We recently announced C7's first video work, 'Okkuu'. Since then, we have been steadily rehearsing and filming, and we are finally ready to announce the release date!

This project started with the question, 'What can we do?' amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. After a frustrating period where the members who gathered to create could not easily move, I am overwhelmed with emotion that we are finally able to present our work to you. It is the end of August 2020, and summer is about to bid us farewell. This work was made possible with the support and cooperation of many people. Please, please watch over this small first step for C7.

C7 1st Video Work 'Okkuu'

One hot afternoon in August.
Kanae is busy cleaning the house in preparation for welcoming a prospective buyer.
Her older brother, Satoru, sits on the veranda, staring blankly at the sky as if it has nothing to do with him.

A 40-minute glimpse through a fixed-point camera into the mundane daily life of a family, and the events that seem likely yet unlikely to happen.

Greetings

This work was planned and produced with the desire to deliver theater in a form we can manage under the current circumstances. We have kept three sides open at all times and have made adjustments within the production to maintain as much distance as possible between the actors.

Furthermore, because we wanted to retain as many traditional theatrical elements as possible, we have not applied any editing such as scene cuts.
Therefore, there are times when there is no one on screen.

This is a work that challenges the fusion of what can be done through video and the unique merits of theater. We hope that many people will enjoy it.
