Plump and round.
I wanted to make a coin purse in this shape, so I remade the pattern many times.
The pattern included when I bought the frame
results in a square gusset at the bottom.
I really wanted to make a plump, round coin purse.
"I want to find a way to make it plump and round!"
This was the beginning of my trial and error.
1. Try making a double gusset for the bottom
When I tried making it...
Oh!
This is cute.
It turned into an egg shape.
I liked the shape, so I tried mass-producing it.
However, I realized something here.
The egg shape makes it hard to see the bottom when using it.
It looks cute, but it's a bit hard to use.
If I'm going to the trouble, I want to make it not just cute, but easy to use.
So, I decided to rethink it again.
2. Go to the library or search on YouTube, etc.
As I researched various things, I found a hint.
Relying on that hint, I tried making a pattern.

Something is different.
It doesn't get as plump as I thought it would.
Change the pattern again

This time, it moved even further away from my image...
At this point, I'm a little lost.
At this point, I decided to take the plunge and change the pattern significantly.
And then—

I did it!
Plump and cute.
This is just as I imagined.
I made it many times and finally arrived here.
This pattern is definitely a keeper!!
When I line them up like this, it makes me a little happy.
Trying a double gusset for the bottom, researching at the library or on YouTube.
I made one, and it was wrong.
I made another, and it was still wrong.
Even so, by changing the pattern little by little, I finally reached a shape I could think, "This is it."
Making a coin purse isn't just about following a pattern and being done.
You try things out until it becomes the shape you want to make.
If it's wrong, you try changing it again.
Beyond that repetition, this "plump, round shape" was created.
And now, I am keeping this pattern carefully.
For when I want to make this shape again.
I want to properly preserve the time I spent remaking it so many times.
