For First-Time Visitors: Writing about people in everyday life through novels and essays

"There are no return deadlines either."
"If you find a book you like, please leave a quiet comment."
"That is the greatest reward for the Coco-chan Editorial Department. Woof! ð"
Nice to meet you.
On this note, I mainly write novels and essays.
What I want to write about is not a story of extraordinary success.
Nor are these words spoken by a person who has it all figured out.
As someone still in the middle of the journey, I write while feeling lost, while thinking, and yet, I keep writing.
I use this space as a record of that.
In my novels, I write about family, caregiving, life with a dog, the community, and the distance between people.
In my essays, I write about creativity, AI, responsibility, a sense of discomfort with society, and my own current place in the world.
Even when talking about big things, I want to bring them back to the light of a single home as much as possible.
Even when discussing systems or society, the last thing I want to see is the face of the person living there.
About my novels
My novels are not stories that progress solely through flashy events.
A morning kitchen.
A doorbell.
A neighborhood circular.
The mail carrier.
A hospital waiting room.
The small footsteps of a dog.
Life in a wheelchair.
Family conversation.
And, somehow finishing today and welcoming tomorrow once again.
I want to write stories about people that exist within such daily life.
One of the central works is
the novel "Mucchin and Otou-chan's Coco-chan War"
.
Mucchin, a wife living in a wheelchair.
Otou-chan, the husband who supports her while panicking by her side.
And Coco-chan, a Papillon who loves people.
This is not a story that turns caregiving into a beautiful tale.
Nor is it a story painted only with suffering.
Laughing, panicking, sometimes crying, and yet welcoming tomorrow.
It is a small life war that continues in one house.
If you are going to read something first, I would be happy if you started here.

Episode 1 "May Tomorrow Be Sunny!!"
This is the entrance to the story of this house.
About Essays
In my essays, I write about what lies behind my novels.
Why do I write?
What does it mean to write using AI?
What does it mean for a human to take responsibility?
What is family?
What is caregiving?
How do people live within the structures of society?
I have no intention of speaking with the answers in hand.
People make mistakes.
Sometimes we are wrong without even realizing it.
That is precisely why I want to write while posing questions.
Not to make definitive statements, but to keep thinking.
Not to judge anyone, but to ensure my own perspective does not become clouded.
That is the kind of essay I will continue to write.
About AI
I do not use AI to erase humanity.
Rather, I use it to bring humanity into sharper relief.
Human hesitation, weakness, responsibility, aging, family, loneliness, and the pain that is difficult to put into words.
I am re-examining these things through the tool of AI.
AI may polish my writing.
However, what to write, what to leave behind, and what to take responsibility forâ
that responsibility remains with the human until the very end.
To me, AI is not an author.
It is not an entity that feels on my behalf.
AI is a mirror, a brush, and sometimes a running partner.
But it is the human who holds that brush, looks into that mirror, and ultimately presents the work.
That is why, while using AI, I am writing about humans.
What I want to cherish in this note
What I want to cherish in this note are the following things:
To be readable as a story.
To be thought-provoking as an essay.
To keep the entrance wide, even for heavy themes.
To change, if only slightly, the way you look at people and life after you finish reading.
To put it grandly, I think I want to write about the world starting from a single house.
Even when talking about nations, systems, or society, I always return to the kitchen in the end.
I return to the entryway.
I return to the sound of a dog's footsteps.
I return to the small conversations beside a wheelchair.
I believe that is where the true nature of human beings lies.
From now on
I will continue to focus on writing novels and essays.
In my novels, I write about the stories found in daily life.
In my essays, I explore the questions that lie deep within that life.
Aim high.
Keep reality small.
Dream joyfully.
With that mindset, I will continue little by little.
I would be happy if those who read my work would pause for a moment and think,
"I'm a little curious about this house,"
"I feel like I understand this person's question a little bit."
That would make me very happy.
This is a note written by someone who is still in the middle of their journey.
Please feel free to start reading from wherever catches your interest.
I appreciate feedback, even if it is just a few words.
"This part caught my attention," "The atmosphere of this house stayed with me."
Even a single word like that gives me the strength to write the next piece.
