Cherishing the 'Self That Stops'!! A Gentle Growth Story That Cultivates Strength
In the morning, my face reflected in the glass.
"Will I be able to move today?" Such a question suddenly crosses my mind.
In my 50s, I have accumulated a fair amount of career and experience.
Yet, there are moments when I suddenly come to a standstill.
Seeing colleagues and friends moving forward, there are times when I feel self-loathing,
"I'm marking time again."
But in truth, that time spent 'stopping' might be
what is cultivating your own unique strength.
Days spent being urged to "grow more" and "meet expectations" while achieving results at work and managing home and private life.
However, precisely because this is an age of great pressure,
"the space to stop and think" is very important.
In psychology, the term "self-compassion" is well-known.
The kindness of accepting your own weaknesses and hesitations
leads to new power.
Do not blame yourself too much for stopping.
Leaves catch the light because the wind stops, and water becomes deep and clear on days when it remains still.
For as much as you have stopped, a quiet power is being stored within you.
I, too, am often afraid of new challenges and worry, "Is this okay?"
Sometimes, I have mornings where I take a deep breath while feeling like I'm losing my confidence.
Even so, in the time I suddenly stopped,
I have been able to see "what I truly want to cherish."
In your own life, what do you really want to do?
What is your mission?
Various things cross my mind.
However, I think the correct answer lies within the heart.
I have also experienced many times that when there is a gap between the head and the heart, I spin my wheels and become unable to move.
You might be able to discover something by stopping.
If you can find your true self, it is proof that your observational skills have improved.
There, your original dreams and potential abilities might be lurking.
The "answers" and "hopes" that you couldn't notice in your busy days
might gradually emerge from the depths of your heart.
If you are feeling frustrated right now because you cannot move,
it's okay, you can stay as you are.
Especially in your 40s and 50s, the "time spent stopping and thinking" becomes the foundation for your future more than you can imagine.
Any speed and any sense of self are part of life.
I want you to cherish your "time to stop" without rushing.
That space in your heart should make tomorrow a little kinder.
I am also wavering every day, but I cherish my feelings to live a life without regrets.
I would be happy if we could walk through such days together, gently.
