Today, I will analyze the work of director James Cameron, whom I love and respect. Today is "Aliens".

Introduction

Spaceship: Information about an approach on the camera, conveying that something is coming closer.
A woman sleeping in a capsule; crew members enter.
Spaceship: Ripley wakes up. It is revealed that she has been asleep for 57 years. Suddenly, Ripley goes into a frenzy and starts rampaging. She has a dream that an alien is about to emerge from her stomach.
She is questioned about the crime of blowing up the spaceship. No one believes that a mysterious creature existed. The investigation is closed.
She requests an investigation of LV-426, but is refused, being told that people are already living there and it is safe.

She asks the investigator the purpose of the mission, makes them promise not to bring any aliens back to Earth, and decides to go.

What is very brilliant is that the plot is constructed by organizing and flowing three complex and contradictory thoughts within Ripley: the desire to be freed from nightmares, the desire not to have such a scary experience again, and the desire not to bring aliens back to Earth.

Development

The unit advances deeper where there is a reaction. A gruesome sight spreads out there.An alien emerges from the chest of a woman who was alive. They burn it to death.Then, the alien whose child was killed begins to attack the unit.Seeing her comrades being killed, Ripley drives a vehicle to go and save them.

Bishop arrives to pick them up and they regroup. However, Ripley heads back to the alien nest to save Newt.

She faces the Alien Queen but manages to find Newt.

Twist

They manage to escape the planet, but since the Alien Queen followed them, they have a final battle inside the spaceship.

After a fierce battle, they succeed in defeating her.

Conclusion

Ripley and the others enter cryo-sleep to return to Earth.

Lessons learned

・Inciting Incident 1
The first half of the data was lost.

It becomes easier to follow the story if you establish a conflict structure early on. To do this, create a group that does not believe the character who is telling the truth, and have them avoid, mock, and tease the character instead of believing them.

The investigative committee is reviewing the records of Ripley, who had been asleep for over 50 years, and is questioning her about blowing up the ship. They blame Ripley for destroying an expensive ship carrying valuable cargo without a justifiable reason. In response, Ripley defends herself as someone who actually fought the aliens and knows the truth, but she is not believed. You can tell the investigators are treating her with near-mockery from the line, 'Are there really such dangerous creatures?' The audience sides with Ripley because they know what she is saying is true. Furthermore, it is a famous scene that shows how Ripley's intense anger is triggered by the fact that no one believes her and they dismiss the alien threat—specifically by ignoring her claim about seeing countless eggs—which adds fuel to the fire.

I think there is a setting that even if they are doing a job that separates life and death like a battlefield, they have a mental state crazy enough to make sarcastic remarks.
