The Door to the Future That Opens Beyond Risk

Hello, this is Maru.

Through my experience of changing from being super negative, I share the secrets to living comfortably and how to gain your own sense of self.

The other day, my mother was watching an old drama, and
a line spoken by the protagonist
stuck with me.

“The higher the risk, the greater the return!”

How cool!!!

While I think that,
I want to avoid high risks
is my honest feeling.

Even if someone says, “It’s high risk, high return!”
I don't feel any appeal,
and in fact,
it just gives me the chills.

“I’d rather settle for something moderate than cross such a dangerous bridge.”

That’s what my timid self thinks.

When you hear the word “risk,”
what kind of image comes to mind?

If you actually look it up,
the word “danger”
comes up.

I imagine many people
think “risk equals danger.”

However, with this interpretation,
you wouldn't feel like
heading toward risk, would you?

But risk has another meaning.

If your interpretation changes,
you will be able to understand
the meaning of the phrase,
“The higher the risk, the greater the return!”

The other meaning is “uncertainty.”

Taking on something you have never done before.
Taking on something that might fail.
Taking on something where you don't know what will happen.

“Taking a risk” is not
“something dangerous,”
but rather something you won't know until you try.”
When the interpretation changes, the resistance decreases, doesn't it?

When I confessed to someone I loved,
when I started living alone,
when I started a job,
when I changed jobs,

risk was always involved in all of them.

Certainly,
I think it is dangerous to jump in suddenly without any preparation,
but doing your best with what you can do
is not dangerous.

Even if you don't do anything high-risk,
if you can take small risks,
I think that alone is a high return.

Within risk,
I want to remember that there is
the possibility of both bad things happening
and good things happening.

If I feel like I'm being pulled in a negative direction,
I want to tell myself to try and muster up just a little bit of courage.
That is what I, Maru, think.
