To those who struggle with setting goals
Hello, this is Maru.
The Hakone Ekiden started today, didn't it?
I've found myself glued to the screen since this morning. Haha
Thinking about the time they've spent preparing for this day,
I hope every runner can finish their race without any regrets.
When hearing the word "goal,"
some people might feel positive,
while others might feel a bit heavy-hearted.
I used to be the latter.
When I was a student, during winter break,
we were often given the homework assignment to "write down your goals."
Those who wrote impressive goals were praised,
and I, who wrote something else,
would feel somewhat disappointed.
Thinking about it now,
I wonder what the criteria were for deciding what a "good goal" was.
But back then,
I thought,
"My goals just aren't good enough."
Perhaps because of that,
whenever I heard "set a goal,"
I would unconsciously brace myself.
I felt I had to come up with something proper,
it had to be an amazing goal,
and I feel like I kept dismissing my own ideas like that.
There are surely quite a few people who struggle with not being able to set goals, right?
If you are standing in the same place
I once was,
I would like to offer these words.
It's okay to just set a goal for the time being.
You don't need to blame yourself
if you don't have a clear vision.
The more you try to set a big goal,
the more confused you might become.
So,
・Wake up just a little earlier in the morning
・Try greeting people yourself
・Try using the stairs
Even small things like that are perfectly fine.
Thinking "Is this okay?"
is just about right.
What matters is deciding for yourself and giving it a try.
As you continue,
your goals will naturally change.
Let's start with something small first♪
