Van Gogh's Masterpieces and... A Certain Law
This is the fourth installment of the Van Gogh series.
I didn't think it would continue this long myself, but...
While writing the article before last,
there was an alignment that caught my attention.
It was a coincidence that I had set it and forgotten to remove it,Kepler.
It is the relationship between that Kepler and Euterpe.
Kepler is an asteroid related to astrology, and Euterpe is an asteroid related to art and creativity, and they were forming an axis in the geocentric chart. Astrology and art?
I was wondering what that could mean.
Asteroid Kepler... named after Johannes Kepler.
[Johannes Kepler]
A German astronomer.
He also had facets as a mathematician, natural philosopher, and astrologer.
Axis formation of Kepler and Euterpe

Kepler and Euterpe are in axis formation
The article I found in a search had interesting content.

Van Gogh's masterpiece 'The Starry Night' followed scientific theory
◆ Van Gogh's work 'The Starry Night' seems to follow the mathematical theory that explains fluids in the natural world.
◆ There is no way he could have understood equations that were born decades after Van Gogh's death.
◆ Researchers discovered that the swirls in the paintings Van Gogh drew match patterns found in clouds, water, and other natural objects.
"One of the painters representing that era, Van Gogh, we believe, carefully observed the movement of the sky many times," said Mr. Huang.
"As a result, when he painted this famous painting, the flow patterns followed mathematical laws precisely."
"Mathematical laws"
Isn't this the same as astrology?
There is the axis formation of Kepler and Euterpe, and furthermore, there is also an axis formation of Kepler and Verit in a different chart. I thought this arrangement might connect to what he talks about regarding laws in his letters to Theo.
I will quote from 'Van Gogh's Letters: The Diary of Painting and Soul' by H. Anna Sue.
[Letter 371] P124
The laws of color are so wonderful that they are indescribable in words. Because they never happen by chance.
[Letter 381] P128
I bought a very beautiful book on anatomy. It is a book called 'Anatomy for Artists' by John Marshall. ~Omitted~
The key to mastering many things is basic knowledge of the human body. It costs a huge amount to learn that. Also, I think there are clearly defined, similar laws for color, chiaroscuro, perspective, tone, and drafting—in other words, everything. These need to be studied just like learning science and mathematics.
[Letter 429] P153
If one studies the laws of color, one will surely break free from the instinctive state of trust in the masters and become conscious of why people find something beautiful—what they consider to be beautiful.
Considering how terribly dogmatic and superficial people's judgments are, this is very necessary today. The abnormal trading of painting prices is increasingly similar to that tulip trade. Let us assume it will disappear relatively quickly. Even if the tulip trade ends, the gardening industry will remain. So, for my part, for better or worse, I am satisfied if I can remain a gardener who takes care of the flowers in his own garden.
There were two interesting commonalities between Van Gogh and Gauguin.
One is that they had Kepler, Lilith, and Mercury at the same Sabian degree in their charts, and the other is that they had the same degree for the conjunction of Kepler and Veritas.
[Kepler, Lilith, Mercury]
Van Gogh: 26 degrees ... Lilith is True <Sextile>
Gauguin: 10 degrees ... Lilith is Mean <Grand Trine>
[Kepler, Veritas]
Van Gogh: 24 degrees <Axis formation>
Gauguin: 26 degrees <Leo 26 conjunction> ... forms a Grand Trine with Van Gogh's Euterpe, Mercury, and True Lilith
With an actual degree error of within 1 degree, Millet, whom they worshipped, also had the same commonality.
And, the axis formation of Van Gogh's Kepler and Euterpe and Millet's True Lilith are in a square relationship at 26 degrees of the Mutable signs (D).
There are still more interesting connections.
Common Sabian symbols with Van Gogh's Dark Moon Lilith (150-degree aspect to the Sun).
Van Gogh Dark Moon Lilith Virgo 10 (T)
Van Gogh Dark Moon Lilith Leo 18 (S)
Gauguin Kepler Virgo 10 (H)
Gauguin Kepler Leo 18 (SH)
Millet Leucothea Virgo 10 (D)
Millet Euterpe Leo 18 (T)
Since Lilith also influences their works,
this commonality is also interesting.
I don't know if painters are conscious of the laws of science and numbers in the first place, but as Van Gogh himself said, he was always conscious of the need to learn.
Now that I know the commonalities, the next step would be to delve deeper if I understood the meaning of the Sabian symbols, but... I still haven't caught up!
Although astrology has its difficulties,
the laws of fate and encounters that emerge from commonalities.
It becomes even more interesting when they are found outside of angles and axes.
