I treated myself a little in Tokyo | Part 1: About Tea
When I went to Tokyo the other day,
I ended up treating myself quite a bit.
In addition to supporting the course,
I had detailed checkups for colorectal and breast cancer (← I'll write an article about this later),
and, although it was something I started on my own... studying for the Astronomy and Space Certification.
On top of that, there was all the daily stuff.
For myself, who was dealing with all that, a little...
No, quite a significant reward.
Since I was going to Tokyo,
I picked up a few things I'd been curious about,
and before I knew it, I'd done quite a bit of shopping (lol).
But that, too, became a fun memory.
Since I'm at it,
I'd like to write about the things I bought, the places I went, and where I stayed,
one by one, at a leisurely pace.
There are just too many episodes for each one,
and so much I want to write about (lol).
First off,
When you go to Omotesando, this is the place.
Starting with the classic Harney & Sons tea.
The reason is,
The seasonal limited edition "Strawberry Milkshake,"
which combines strawberries with Harney & Sons' classic
"Milky Oolong" that I bought last time,
was so delicious that
before I knew it, there was only a little left...
It was refreshing and light, easy to drink,
and I was truly brewing it almost every day.
The scent of strawberries that spreads the moment you brew it.
But when you drink it,
it isn't overwhelmingly "strawberry-like,"
but rather a mellow, gentle-tasting oolong tea.
That is precisely why
I went to look for a new "daily companion."

I was grateful for the time at the shop, where I was able to sample many teas.
There were five types that day.
...Only one of them contained chamomile, so I had to tearfully pass on it...
(If you have an allergy to the Asteraceae family, always ask before sampling!)
And then.
"Strawberry Milkshake"
Believe it or not, there was only one tin left.
They said it had sold out completely once, and they had restocked it from another store...
But I already have the cute tin at home... (and they don't seem to have it in bags)
I thought, while feeling a bit conflicted.
What I chose this time was
"Vanilla Comoro"
A gentle, sweet scent
that is just like vanilla ice cream or cake.
Lately, I've often been drawn to
enchanting, sweet scents like vanilla.
And
I felt a slight sense of familiarity with the sound of "Comoro".
...Though, I'm actually from "Komoro" (laughs).
Originally, it refers to "vanilla from the Comoros Islands".
The Comoros Islands are one of the places I'd like to visit someday,
and they say that when you step onto the island, it smells like vanilla.
...I've strayed a bit from the topic (laughs).
And one more thing.
I got one tin of "Tower of London" to try.
It has a sweet scent of vanilla and honey with a bergamot that isn't too strong.
I even laugh at myself a little,
wondering just how much I love vanilla.
And when I made a purchase, I got a free gift,
which was also lucky♬

After my purchase, I collected 10 stamps,
so I get 5% off next time.
I have one more reason to look forward to coming to Tokyo again.
"I wonder what I should buy next♡"
I look forward to the time I spend thinking about that,
as well as the time I spend with my new black tea.
