Types of Sightings: Mountain Bears and Another Kind of Bear

When an Asiatic black bear appears in the mountains, the local government always says, "Please refrain from going out." When that notification arrives on my smartphone, I naturally straighten my back. Bears have fangs and claws, and encountering one can be life-threatening. Therefore, it is only natural for the authorities to be cautious.

On the other hand, it seems that caution is also needed for another type of "bear" these days. It is a bear that appears not in the mountains, but on the internet. This one does not physically attack you, but the AI starts saying, "Please refrain from generating." Apparently, when you get close to certain shapes, colors, or contexts, the AI itself gets scared.

Mountain bears have sharp claws. Internet bears have sharp filters. Both are quite similar in that the moment you encounter them, your actions are restricted.

However, there is a fact that a mountain bear has "appeared." There are footprints, eyewitness reports, and it shows up on cameras. On the other hand, an internet bear is suddenly "treated as having appeared" even if you didn't intend it. A casual word in a sentence, round ears in an image, a yellow hue. That alone is enough for the AI to judge, "This is a dangerous bear."

It is understandable that humans are afraid of bears. However, it is quite interesting that AI is afraid of bears. Mountain bears may attack humans, but internet bears attack AI. In a sense, they are common in that encountering either one results in "generation failure."

In the end, perhaps what is scary is the "judgment" rather than the fangs.
You won't encounter a mountain bear unless you go near the mountains, but the boundaries for internet bears are ambiguous. Even if you don't intend it, the AI decides on its own, "This is a bear," and runs away.

Warning signs for sightings are likely necessary for both mountains and the internet. However, the latter sign should probably read as follows.

"Please be careful, as the AI reacts hypersensitively."
