Regarding Booth Encroachment at ZINE Fes
Hello! This is Nakanishi from the ZINE Fes management team.
After our events, we occasionally receive inquiries regarding "booth encroachment." To ensure that both exhibitors and visitors can have a comfortable experience within our limited space, we have organized our rules and etiquette once again.
We would appreciate it if you could read through this before exhibiting.
1. What is "booth encroachment"?
One booth at ZINE Fes is a very compact size, consisting of "half of a 180cm or 150cm table."
[Specific Example] When many customers come to Person A's booth, the line extends in front of Person B's booth, and Person B's work becomes completely invisible... This is a state of "encroachment."
Everyone shares the same desire to have their work picked up, but please be considerate of those around you so as not to deprive your neighbors of their opportunities.
2. Two measures implemented by the management
To avoid physical congestion, we have established the following rules.
*The venue for ZINE Fes Osaka is quite tight.
Limit of "up to 2 people per booth" It is physically impossible for 3 to 4 people to stay in a 90cm or 75cm wide space. Please strictly adhere to a maximum of 2 people, including the representative, for staff or friends accompanying you.
Creating gaps between tables We intentionally arrange the tables with a space of several dozen centimeters rather than placing them right next to each other. This is to prevent exhibitors from bumping into each other and to make the boundaries visually clear.
Creating distance from the table behind Ensure a depth of at least 1.5m for the booth to avoid situations where you have to place items to the side.
3. What if it gets crowded? (Response Guide)
Depending on the popularity of the booth or the time of day, customers may inevitably concentrate in one area. In such cases, please follow the steps below.
Request to customers: Please kindly ask them, "Since it is currently overlapping with the neighboring booth, could you please come back after a little while?"
-
Communication between exhibitors: If the person at the neighboring booth has not noticed the "encroachment," please first convey it directly in a way that does not cause friction.
Example: "Excuse me, it seems like the customers are spreading out this way a bit, so could you please organize the area?"
ZINE Fes is built on "mutual support (the spirit of give and take)" among exhibitors. We also value maintaining this as a fairly relaxed event, including the management side. Please do not be hostile; instead, start with a conversation as fellow participants who are all there to liven up the same venue.
4. If the issue is still not resolved
If you have "conveyed it directly but it has not improved," please do not hesitate to inform the management staff at the venue entrance.
Let's make this a fun event where everyone's wonderful work reaches all the customers!
