Makeup and Those Words | Kotori Diary | Episode 51

There are things that makeup reminds me of.

It happened on a day I went to the city office to submit some documents.

Suddenly, I was told:

You should wear more makeup and
[[phN_open]]
look prettier.[[phN_close]]Your child will be happy for it.

It was from a mother-child counselor.

Huh, what is this, I thought.

I wear makeup too.
I felt I was keeping myself
groomed in my own way.

Even so,
to be told that suddenly, in such a strong tone,
by someone who wasn't even a friend.

Honestly, it made me annoyed.

However, it is a difficult thing.

If you don't wear makeup,
you are told to wear more.

If you go out dressed up a little,
then someone might
suspect you of something untoward.

Either way,
I feel like I'm going to be told something.

Perhaps that is just how people's eyes are.

But, thinking about it now.

there was no one around me
who dressed flashily.

My workplace, if anything,
was a place where the older staff were the ones who were properly groomed.

Even though I thought I was doing enough,
perhaps I just didn't know a world where people dressed more glamorously.

Since those words,
I have come to reconsider things a little.

So for now,
I am also grateful.

However.

There is a little more to the story
regarding that counselor.

But that will be for the next story.
