I threw my raw emotions at AI, and it organized them. A story about a morning when the fog cleared.

I have so many things I want to do that I don't know where to start.

Have you ever felt that kind of impatience?

Thinking, 'I need to organize my thoughts properly before I ask for advice,' but having no time to actually do the organizing, and ending up not starting anything at all.

This article is about an experience that became the catalyst for breaking out of that loop.

Sunday morning of a three-day weekend. I have so many things I want to do that my mind is restless.

I want to go to the gym, I want to write a note, but I have no time.

That day was a Sunday during a three-day weekend. I woke up at 6:00 AM.

I thought, 'Today is the day I'll go to the gym, and when I get back, I'll write a note article.'

But I had to move before the kids woke up.

After returning from the gym, there were plans to go out with the family.

This brief moment in the morning was the only time I had for myself.

I want to go to the gym. But I also want to write an article.

While feeling impatient, I opened my smartphone, scrolled again, and before I knew it, 15 minutes had passed.

Just thinking about the theme makes time slip away.

To be honest, the biggest bottleneck was that I didn't know what to write.

I have experiences. I have realizations.

But when I start thinking, 'Is it okay to write this on Note?' or 'Will this resonate with readers?', my hands stop.

In times like these, as an introvert, I enter deep-thought mode.

By trying to find an answer, my mind becomes even more congested.

The restlessness in my heart kept growing bigger and bigger.

As I touched on briefly in a previous article, the introverted brain doesn't have an 'off' switch for 'deep thinking mode'.

I stopped 'organizing before consulting.' I just threw my raw emotions at the AI.

Whether it was ChatGPT or Gemini, there was no need to think about prompts.

I lost my patience and opened Gemini on my smartphone.

It didn't matter if it was ChatGPT or Gemini; anything would do.

I didn't think about 'coming up with a clever prompt.' I didn't have the luxury for that.

I just typed in my current situation and feelings exactly as they were.

'It's Sunday of a three-day weekend. I want to go to the gym, but I also want to write on note. I only have time until the kids wake up. Time passed while I was thinking about a theme. I'm feeling anxious. I feel foggy.'

I didn't organize it. There might have been typos.

But I sent it anyway.

The AI objectively organized the situation and empathized with me.

The response I got back was beyond my expectations.

Gemini first organized the situation and put it into words for me.

'Right now, Bob, you have multiple things you want to do at the same time, and you are stuck because you can't decide which one to choose under time constraints. This is by no means laziness; it's because your brain is intuitively sensing the cost of multitasking.'

Once the cause of my anxiety was objectively put into words, I strangely calmed down.

It clicked: 'I see, my brain is just reacting rationally.'

And then, it continued with this suggestion.

'How about separating the time you spend thinking about a theme from the time you spend writing?'

The idea of 'separating themes from writing' that Gemini helped me realize.

An operational flow for stocking daily insights in Notion.

"Because you try to think of a theme while writing, both end up being half-baked."

That one sentence really hit home.

Indeed, what I had been doing was "opening a blank page and thinking of a theme at the same time."

The flow that Gemini proposed is like this.

  1. Take notes of daily realizations and experiences in a Notion database

  2. When the time to write comes, choose something from the stock that you can write about now

  3. Create a state where the theme is decided "in daily life" rather than "before writing"

You can't write because you try to write. It's enough to just "save ideas" first.

This is simple, but it was a blind spot for me.

I had never even thought that "you don't have to decide on a theme when you write."

It's okay to just write one line in Notion.

A level of detail like "I was flustered by this today" or "I felt better after trying this" is enough.

When you have the energy to write, you can open that stock and head toward the one you can write about most easily.

I realized that just by saving ideas beforehand, the hurdle of the act of "writing" drops significantly.

AI is not a task substitute. Use it as a sounding board and mentalist.

Until now, I mainly used ChatGPT and Gemini to "have them make something for me."

Summarizing text, organizing ideas, acting as a substitute for research. As a tool for work efficiency.

But that wasn't all.

If you throw the restlessness of your emotions at it as they are, the AI will organize them and return them to you.

You don't need a perfect prompt.

It is okay if your situation is not well-organized.

A simple note saying, 'I'm struggling with this right now,' was enough.

Gemini, in particular, can draw out perspectives I hadn't thought of myself, even from vague worries.

Not just as someone to delegate tasks to, but as a sounding board, or even as a mentalist.

Using it that way helped me regain some 'peace of mind' on a busy morning.

Summary: The one habit that creates space in your heart and time.

There are three things I wanted to convey in this article.

1. You don't need to 'organize before consulting' when you feel anxious or foggy. Just throw it at the AI as is, and it will organize it for you.

2. 'Writing while thinking of a theme' is costly. Just stocking your daily insights in Notion lowers the hurdle for when you actually write.

3. AI is not just a tool for delegating tasks. Using it as a sounding board or mentalist will bring back unexpected answers.

I truly understand the feeling of being anxious because you have so much you want to do in your busy daily life.

But there is no rule that says you must have perfect preparation before you start.

You can just throw your messy thoughts at it as they are.

The AI will receive them properly.

Thank you for reading until the end.
