Hello. SlideCast Studio v3.0 LUMEN has been released.

This time, because there were many changes to the UI and UX, we are jumping from v2.6 straight to v3.0. In v3.0 LUMEN, rather than adding one flashy new feature, we have collectively polished the parts you touch repeatedly when creating videos.

The biggest changes are the organization of the settings screen, per-slide timeline adjustments, OP/ED video handling, and screen transition effects.

This update is focused on "making it easier to adjust until completion" rather than "increasing what you can create."

❶ Organized the settings screen into 9 tabs

What changes?

  • Before

    • Settings for BGM, audio, subtitles, captions, etc., were partially grouped together, making them difficult to find until you got used to them.

  • After

    • We have divided the settings into Basic / Subtitles / Effects / BGM / OP/ED / Badges / Captions / Characters / Audio.

    • BGM has been moved to the BGM tab, and top/bottom captions have been moved to the Captions tab.

As the number of setting items has increased, we have reorganized their locations so you can find them without hesitation in the future.

Where do you use it?

You can open it from the settings button at the top left of the editing screen.

❷ Made it easier to adjust audio, video, and pauses in the in-slide timeline

What changes?

  • Before

    • For "pauses" between scripts and the start position of video slides, there were many situations where you had to adjust them numerically, making it difficult to grasp the overall sense of timing. For example, when creating an explanatory video, you want to play the narration in sync with the timing, but until now, it was very difficult to match the timing.

  • After

    • You can now check the video, audio, and intervals for the selected slide on the timeline.

    • You can drag the audio track to adjust the start position of the script or the intervals between scripts.

    • For video slides, you can also adjust the timing when the video starts. If blank spaces are created before or after, the beginning and end of the video—the start and end frames—will be displayed as still images.

    • For still image slides, you can adjust the display duration on the timeline.

Furthermore, we have updated the timeline to reflect the actual length of the imported audio, making the display and playback results more intuitive.

Where to use it?

You can use it by opening the "Timeline" at the bottom of the editing screen.

❸ Stabilized the preview seek bar and subtitle display

What changes?

  • Before

    • During preview playback, the seek bar, subtitle page, and the current position on the bottom timeline would sometimes become misaligned. Also, audio would continue to play even if you switched slides during playback.

  • After

    • We have fixed the central preview, seek bar, subtitles, and bottom timeline to all reference the same time within the slide.

    • It is now easier to resume from the paused position.

    • If you switch slides during playback, the audio from the previous slide will now stop automatically.

Although it is a minor detail, this is a significant improvement for editing tasks that require repeated confirmation playback.

❹ OP/ED videos can now be set for each project

What changes?

  • Before

    • Changing the OP/ED in one project would reflect those changes across all other projects.

  • After

    • We have made it possible to set OP/ED videos on a per-project basis.

    • This also prevents new projects from unintentionally picking up the OP/ED of other projects.

We believe this will make management easier, especially for those who create multiple video series.

Where can I use this?

You can configure this from the OP/ED tab in the settings panel.

❺ We have enabled trimming and display adjustment for OP/ED videos

What has changed?

  • Before

    • It was not possible to precisely trim the beginning or end of OP/ED video assets, nor could you adjust how they appeared to match the aspect ratio of the finished video.

  • After

    • You can now adjust the start and end positions of OP/ED videos on the timeline.

    • You can choose how to display them.

      • Show entire

      • Fill screen

      • Stretch

    • You can adjust the zoom level.

    • You can choose whether to make the margin background black or match the background of the entire project.

This update is designed to reduce the sense of awkwardness when mixing portrait, landscape, and square videos.
My personal recommendation is that when creating OP/ED videos with Gemini Omni, although 10 seconds is a bit long, if you have it generate one video with the first 5 seconds as the OP and the last 5 seconds as the ED, you can create a perfect 5-second OP and 5-second ED with just one video generation. Then, all you have to do is upload it and set the playback positions to 0-5 seconds and 5-10 seconds in the detailed settings, and you're done.

❻ Enhanced screen transitions and sound effects

Sidebar

What changes?

  • Before

    • Slide transition effects were primarily based on unified settings for the entire presentation, and detailed settings for each individual slide transition were not possible.

  • After

    • You can adjust transition effects and duration between each slide.

    • Sound effects can also be set to follow global settings, turned OFF, or configured individually.

    • The volume of sound effects can also be adjusted at each boundary.

    • You can now add transition effects to the boundaries between the OP and the first slide, and between the last slide and the ED.

In addition, we have added presentation presets such as standard fade, white flash, zoom types, and page swipe types.

Where to use it?

You can configure it by clicking the transition chip located between slides in the left sidebar.

❼ Expanded slide animation expressions

What's changing?

We have added the following presets for overall slide movement.

  • Picture Book Sway

  • Impact Zoom

  • Impact Shake

  • Pop Start

  • Wave Sway

You can change the movement for each slide and adjust its intensity.

This is effective for adding movement to picture books and similar content.

❽ Improved navigation and pausing for OP/ED in the full preview

What's changing?

  • You can now proceed to the first slide by clicking "Next" while the OP is playing.

  • You can now return to the OP from the first slide by clicking "Previous".

  • You can now return to the last slide by clicking "Previous" while the ED is playing.

It is now easier to navigate to the parts you want to see during check playback before completion.

❾ Script generation has also been adjusted

What has changed?

We are gradually refining the script generation process.

  • Previously, the format involved creating a Gem and generating a script with it, but now you can generate it on the spot using an API or create a prompt for external AI to generate it elsewhere.

  • We have made it easier to create script JSON using external AI such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini by using prompts for external AI.

  • We have enabled the loading of speaker names, making it easier to assign them to existing characters.

  • We have decided to exclude video slides from script generation and have organized the policy to insert scripts into static slides in order.

How to update

If you have already purchased SlideCast Studio, please copy v3.0 from the shared link in the paid note above as usual to use it.

If you are using the local HTML version, please download SlideCast Studio v3.0 [Local Version].html and double-click to open it.

Conclusion

This v3.0 LUMEN update is designed to make final adjustments in video production easier.

We have made settings easier to find, enabled adjustments while checking timing, and made OP/ED and transition effects easier to handle on a per-project basis.

For those who are particular about details, it should now be easier to use and reach those hard-to-get areas.

If you are already using up to v2.6, the screen layout might feel a bit different at first. However, I believe frequently used settings are now easier to find than before.

I have changed many things, so it would be helpful if you could let me know if there are any bugs or parts that are difficult to understand.

Happy creating.

Editor's Note

Recently, I have been spending more time developing AI-related tools for my main job rather than on personal development.

My workplace is an environment where many people struggle with PCs, even before considering AI. Because of this, I place a high priority on ensuring that 'anyone can use it without getting lost' and that 'it can be understood intuitively with just a little bit of exploration.' This is a real training ground for me. If it is even slightly difficult to understand, it won't just go unused—it will become a source of confusion.

On the other hand, SlideCast Studio has a slightly different direction. It is not made for people who struggle with PCs, but rather for people like myself who want to obsess over and adjust every detail. I have been quite proactive in adding features that I felt would be 'convenient if I could change this' or 'I wish I had this function.'

However, the more features I add, the more complex the screen and operations inevitably become. The ideal is a tool that is 'super feature-rich but clear and easy to use,' but this is quite difficult to achieve. When I use it myself repeatedly, I understand the functions so well that it becomes hard to notice where it might be confusing or difficult to use. At such times, I try to keep in mind the people at my workplace who struggle with PCs, and I try to shape it into a form that can be used with as little confusion as possible.

Regarding my development environment, I currently mainly use ChatGPT and Codex. At first, I used Antigravity, but I was so impressed by the low error rate of Claude Opus that I switched to Claude Code. Later, when I tried Codex during a period when Claude Code had limitations, I found that it felt much the same as Claude and the UI was easier to understand, so I started using them together. Recently, ChatGPT's image generation capabilities have improved significantly, so I have now consolidated almost everything into ChatGPT and Codex. I would actually like to use Claude as well, but I am holding back for the sake of costs. Additionally, my family uses Google AI Pro, and it has become like infrastructure in our home, so I plan to continue using it.

Beyond SlideCast Studio, I have many concepts for other tools and apps I would like to create. However, when I consulted with AI, it told me, 'Rather than starting something else while SlideCast Studio hasn't spread enough yet, you should focus on SlideCast Studio first.' I thought that was true, so I am currently focusing my efforts on SlideCast Studio.

I truly enjoy creating tools like this and making work more efficient. On the other hand, I am honestly not very good at marketing or PR. Or perhaps I just don't like it very much. Having been constantly exposed to stealth marketing, exaggerated advertising, and templated hype on the internet, I have become fed up with it, and I think I have a strong feeling of 'I don't want to become like that.' In the first place, I am not very good at standing out myself.

Nevertheless, to continue development, I need more people to know about and purchase SlideCast Studio. I love creating, but I am bad at selling. I am moving forward while holding this contradiction, so I find it difficult to expand awareness and feel the challenge.

Every time I update, I think, 'This should be enough,' but as I actually use it, I find more things I want to fix or features I want to add. It was the same last time, and this time is also intended to be the final update. However, if I keep using it, I am sure I will find more things to fix or features to add. In the end, SlideCast Studio is still in the middle of improvement. I would like to continue nurturing it little by little into a tool that is easier to use and closer to my ideal.

Thank you for reading this far.
See you again.
