❄️ Experience the "winter chill" with songs created using SUNO AI
First, I generated the melodies that serve as the seeds for the tracks using SUNO AI. In the prompts, I included winter-related keywords such as **"airiness," "coldness," "Nordic," "drift ice," and "aurora,"** along with words related to the titles I envisioned for each track.
I felt that the inorganic yet beautiful melodies of AI matched this concept perfectly. I converted the generated audio into MIDI data and assigned my favorite piano VSTs to them within my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation).
🎶 MIDI conversion tool
I use this tool to convert from MP3 to MIDI.
I think it's quite excellent, but it picks up too much sound, so I end up doing quite a bit of adjusting (lol).
🎹 Choosing the "Hans Zimmer Piano"
The instrument playing the MIDI-converted melodies is Spitfire Audio's Hans Zimmer Piano.
It's my favorite among many piano VSTs.
For me, it's one of those expensive plugin rabbit holes (lol).
This instrument, which captures the resonance of the legendary recording studio "AIR Studios," changes the atmosphere of the space the moment you play it.
AIR Studios (Associated Independent Recording) is one of the world's leading recording studios based in London, established in 1969 by George Martin, known as the producer for The Beatles.
In the previous work, "Vol.1," I used Alicia's Keys included with Komplete to create a gentle sound even for cold melodies, but in this work, I pursued a **"piercing sound."** A sharp yet beautiful resonance, like ice crystals colliding. That expressed the high transparency of the winter sky.
✨ Effects and mastering to "paint" the silence
Hans Zimmer Piano is a wonderful sound even as it is, recorded at Air Studios, but for this project, I added further effects to enhance the resonance within the cold and silence.
What I aimed for was "even more coldness and stillness." If you can feel the vastness of the winter night sky in the "space" where the reverberation fades away, then I have achieved my goal.
📀 Listen to Vol.1
This is the previous Winter Sky Piano, Vol.1.
It has a slightly gentler sound.
✉️ Afterword
By adding that "extra touch" as always—though in reality, it was much more than just a little extra work (laughs)—your own unique sound becomes even more endearing.
Taking the "winter fragments" presented by the AI and expanding them into a "winter sky" with my own hands. Please listen to these cold yet beautiful resonances born from the combination of AI and professional-grade sound sources.
