What I want to work on as a supporter of the welfare field

This edition of "Board Member Profiles" is a contribution from Kengo Tanaka, a certified public accountant who serves as the organization's auditor.
As an auditor for Bino Bino, Mr. Tanaka is someone who always provides input on agenda items from a broad perspective, specifically from a financial and accounting standpoint.

When our passion takes the lead and we are about to rush forward with a focus purely on the field, he always provides insights from multiple directions, asking things like, "Have you considered this risk?", "Isn't there another approach?", or "What does this look like in terms of numbers?"
Also, because he is well-versed in the social welfare field related to the elderly, he brings a wealth of various case studies to the table.

He has been in charge of our corporate accounting audits every year, but during our first audit, he said, "This year, I'm going to the site of the XX project!" which left us at Bino Bino a bit flustered. 💦
He told us, "By looking at the money coming in and out of the smallest project, I can understand almost everything."
I was completely convinced. I bowed my head and had him conduct the audit with sincerity.

He has a very bright and playful side, and he is truly the perfect auditor for Bino Bino (in my opinion), combining both a sense of fun and integrity.

At my first shrine visit of the year, I prayed for safety and health throughout the year.

I would like to write a little about the role I want to fulfill in the welfare industry and what I want to work on from here on out.

I believe my role is to establish a foundation for administration and management so that everyone working hard daily in the welfare field, including those at Bino Bino, can focus on their core activities with peace of mind.

In small organizations, people and time are limited, so there should be many situations where it would be rational to utilize outsourcing.
However, in reality, I have seen many organizations that take on administration and management themselves, perhaps due to a strong sense of responsibility or because it simply isn't considered an option.
Admittedly, I also feel that in recent years, the labor shortage has become even more serious, and outsourcing is progressing rapidly.

In the welfare field, people often end up "wearing two hats," handling accounting and administrative tasks alongside their support work.
Under such circumstances, administrative work is inevitably pushed to the back burner or handled in an unsustainable way. As a result, accounting and management tasks can pile up without being properly organized.

To prevent that from happening,I have been involved as someone who quietly supports the necessary areas right beside the staff as they face the support work in front of them. Rather than standing in front and leading, I have been involved as someone who supports from behind the scenes.

Recently, I have been hearing the terms ICT and DX more often, and I am frequently told that "things will get easier if you introduce a system." However, looking at the actual field, I feel there are many situations where it is not that simple.

It is not uncommon for small discrepancies to pile up, such as having too many functions that cannot be fully utilized or feeling that the cost burden is too heavy.
Not leaving such discrepancies alone, but rather adjusting them into a sustainable form that matches the methods and scale of the field, has also become an important part of my work recently.

By starting with the bare minimum and thinking about forms that can be shared among multiple organizations, I work together with them to find a middle ground where they can think, "I can keep this up."

I would like to actively work on translating institutional and IT talk into language that fits daily practical work, rather than just bringing it in as is, and making it into a form that actually works.

Although I hold the position of auditor at Bino Bino,I want to be more than just someone who supervises; I want to be someone who explores the optimal form together with you.

Accounting and management are not the purpose of welfare itself, but merely a means.
I want to continue to be involved as a familiar face behind the scenes so that everyone involved in the welfare field can focus on their original roles.

A photo of the Tone Canal, which I love. We will soon enter the season full of canola flowers.
