Saved by my past self 〜Fortune〜

A small scrap of paper I found when I was struggling.
It was inside a drawer in my accessory box.

It was folded in two,
so I didn't know what was written on it right away.

Curious, I opened it up,
and it was written somewhat like a fortune slip.

It wasn't the kind of fortune you draw at a shrine,
but to me, it felt like one.

Love, Life, and Answer,
with advice written next to them.

I had no memory of writing it myself,
so I was startled the moment I read it.

It was a message that gave me a push,
as I had been unable to feel confident in my own choices.

Now is the very moment
There is no other way
Strong words that bring peace of mind,
telling me this path is fine, it's the right one.

On the other hand,

Being afraid of being criticized by others,
is because you haven't decided how to live your life yourself.
Words that are a bit cold and piercing.

But,
I truly think that's exactly right.

Things like 'people usually do this,' or
'generally, at this age, you should be like this,'—
I find those kinds of constraints painful.

Because I've lived my life leaving things to others,
I'm afraid of what people might say.

Answer
Nothing was written.
What could this mean?
Only the me from back then knows.

So,
what the current me feels is that
there is no such thing as an answer in life.



What are you afraid of?

It's your life,
so you can decide for yourself.

You're not wrong,
it's fine as it is.

Just believe in yourself.
