In Naha, I visited the historical spot 'Shuri Castle,' and in Chatan Town, I had an extraordinary surprise: enjoying a meal at 'Yakiniku Ryukyu no Ushi' and catching a fireworks event that happened to be taking place. Also, at 'Hotel Nikko Alivila' in Yomitan Village, I enjoyed the spacious guest rooms, the beautiful private beach, and the hotel's special meals. I spent a luxurious time unique to a resort.

Furthermore, I focused on local gourmet experiences, incorporating specialties like 'Agu Pork Shabu-Shabu' and 'Pork Tamago Onigiri' to savor Okinawa's food culture. This model course, based on my travel experience, serves as a helpful guide for travelers who want to fully enjoy an extraordinary getaway.

📖 Model Course Overview

In November 2020, I will introduce a 3-day travel model course to enjoy Okinawa's mild climate and the changing season from autumn to winter. On this trip, starting from Naha Airport, you will efficiently tour Chatan Town and Yomitan Village, which are packed with sightseeing and dining attractions. It is a plan where you can thoroughly enjoy the local scenery, culture, and gourmet food while savoring the unique resort atmosphere of Okinawa.

The feature of this course is its well-balanced planning that weaves in seasonal events and history, such as local fireworks displays and sightseeing at Shuri Castle. Also, by utilizing the 'Go To Travel Campaign' and airline campaigns, I achieved a premium experience while significantly keeping costs down.

At the accommodation, 'Hotel Nikko Alivila,' you can enjoy luxurious guest rooms and a beautiful beach. Furthermore, you can fully enjoy local delicacies, such as watching fireworks in Chatan Town and tasting exquisite Agu pork shabu-shabu in Yomitan Village. I have also ensured time to feel the history at the popular tourist spot 'American Village' and the Shuri Castle site, which is currently under restoration.

・Outbound：Flight from Haneda Airport to Naha Airport. I utilized the JAL Diamond Premier Lounge and enjoyed the limited-edition baked curry bread and Haagen-Dazs ice cream. You can spend a relaxing time until boarding in the comfortable lounge space.

・Inbound：Flight from Naha Airport to Haneda Airport. I used the lounge on the return trip as well, enjoying Okinawa-exclusive Johnny's purple sweet potato bean paste bread, beer, and Awamori. The service is well-equipped to let you enjoy a special feeling until the very end of your trip.

Hotel Nikko Alivila (Yomitan Village)
A resort hotel surrounded by the blue sea and white sand beaches typical of Okinawa, featuring a sophisticated Western-style design and spacious guest rooms of over 40 square meters.
The rooms have large balconies where you can enjoy the view of the pool and courtyard below, as well as the sea in the distance. During the day, you can spend time in a way unique to a resort, such as relaxing by the pool or strolling along the private beach.
Breakfast is provided at multiple restaurants, and the appeal is being able to choose from Japanese, Western, and buffet styles. In particular, the fresh sea grape bowl and dashimaki tamago bowl available at 'Sawa' were popular. The petit sweets buffet provided as a perk was also a wonderful experience that satisfied my afternoon relaxation time.
The atmosphere inside the hotel is calm, and the staff's service is kind, allowing for a comfortable stay. Access by car is also convenient, and it is recommended as a base for sightseeing in Okinawa.

Day 1: A Special Night with Winter Fireworks

Morning
Depart from home and head to Haneda Airport. Spend some time relaxing at the JAL Diamond Premier Lounge, enjoying baked curry bread and Haagen-Dazs ice cream. You can enjoy a comfortable moment preparing for your flight in the lounge's uniquely calm atmosphere. The airport's facilities and ease of access also help build anticipation for the trip before your flight.

Afternoon
Arrive at Naha Airport on a JAL flight. Arrange a rental car and head to Chatan Town. During the drive, you can enjoy the unique blue sky and coastal scenery of Okinawa, gradually building up the travel mood. The road from Naha to Chatan is dotted with tourist spots and restaurants, allowing you to feel the vibrant atmosphere of Okinawa.

Evening
After arriving in Chatan Town, have dinner at 'Yakiniku Ryukyu no Ushi.' You can enjoy Ishigaki beef yakiniku and dishes made with carefully selected local ingredients. This restaurant, where you can enjoy high-quality meals at reasonable prices, is popular with many tourists and locals alike. During the meal, winter fireworks are launched near the restaurant, spreading colorful lights across the beautiful night sky. Enjoying the fireworks up close will make the first night of your trip even more special.

Night
Leave Chatan Town and head to 'Hotel Nikko Alivila' in Yomitan Village. After checking in, relax in the beautiful European-style building or your spacious guest room. The calm lighting and sophisticated interior soothe the fatigue of travel, providing a space where you can spend time leisurely. Enjoy a pleasant Okinawan night while looking out at the night courtyard or the sea from your balcony. Prepare for the next day and go to sleep slowly while savoring the sense of being away from the ordinary.

Day 2: A Day to Fully Enjoy the Resort and Gourmet Food

Morning
Enjoy a luxurious breakfast using local ingredients at the Japanese restaurant 'Sawa' inside Hotel Nikko Alivila. For breakfast, you can enjoy combining mini-bowls like sea grape bowls or dashi-rolled egg bowls to your liking, centered around a set-meal style tray. Spend a slow morning moment in a calm atmosphere within the spacious dining area. After breakfast, take a walk through the hotel's private beach and gardens to refresh yourself while feeling Okinawa's rich nature and sea breeze.

Afternoon
For the afternoon sweet time, enjoy a petit sweets buffet at the hotel's cafe lounge, 'Elegant Room Azure.' A variety of colorful and visually beautiful sweets are lined up, including sata andagi made with local ingredients, chinsuko, mini cakes, jelly, and soft-serve ice cream. Spending time leisurely while enjoying the resort mood with a drink in hand further enhances the sense of being away from the ordinary.

Late Afternoon
After spending a sweet time at the sweets buffet, take some time to relax at the hotel. Enjoy free moments unique to a resort, such as reading or taking photos by the beach or poolside. Spend a luxurious afternoon where you can relax without worrying about the time, wrapped in the unique blue sky and the sound of the waves of Okinawa.

Evening
When evening comes, drive to the popular Yomitan Village restaurant 'Ocean BOO.' Here, you can enjoy shabu-shabu using Okinawa's brand pork, 'Agu Pork.' Combine cabbage, garlic, and yuzu kosho with the restaurant's original broth to enjoy a simple yet deep flavor. At the end of the shabu-shabu, you can fully enjoy the deliciousness of Okinawan ingredients with a rice porridge finish. Enjoy a special dinner time while relaxing in the homey atmosphere of the restaurant and experiencing heartwarming hospitality.

Night
After dinner, return to the hotel and take a walk inside while bathing in the night breeze. In your room, enjoy a relaxing bath time using bath salts, and spend a quiet night while fully savoring the resort mood.

Day 3: Shuri Castle and the Journey Home

Morning
Spend your final breakfast at Hotel Nikko Alivila at 'Brasserie Verdemar,' where you can enjoy a Western-style buffet. Brown sugar French toast and dishes using local ingredients are lined up, and there is also an abundance of tropical fruits. After enjoying a morning moment in the spacious dining area, return to your room, pack your bags, and check out.

Afternoon
After checking out, drive to Naha City and visit the tourist spot 'Shuri Castle.' The sight of the main hall, which was lost in last year's fire and is currently under restoration, is a spot that makes you think about the importance of preserving cultural heritage. Within the premises, you can watch a video in the exhibition area that details the restoration plan and the history of Shuri Castle. Enjoy your time touching upon Okinawan culture while walking through the vast grounds and historic atmosphere.

Evening
After finishing your sightseeing in Naha City, return your rental car and head to the airport. Before departure at Naha Airport, use the domestic lounge. Spend a relaxing time before your flight while enjoying light meals and drinks that incorporate Okinawan specialties. You should also try the limited-edition menu items you can only taste here, such as baked curry bread and purple sweet potato bean paste bread.

Night
Depart for Haneda Airport on a JAL flight. During the flight, look back on your 3-day trip while reviewing the souvenirs you bought in Naha and your travel photos. After arriving at Haneda Airport, head straight home and return to your daily life feeling refreshed while still feeling the lingering excitement of your fun trip.
