Start with what you have, right where you are.
What are the things you find yourself not doing because you are waiting for conditions or your environment to be just right, telling yourself you'll start once you have everything you need or once you've achieved something?
Like saying, "I'll do this once I have more confidence."
Or, "I'll be happy once I've achieved that."
Sometimes, isn't this "waiting" actually the very thing holding you back?
For example, you don't gain confidence because you're waiting for it.
Or you can't do something because you aren't happy yet.
While waiting for conditions to align is certainly one option, it might be good to look back occasionally and ask, "Could this attitude of waiting be delaying my results?"
Professional golfer Gary Player once said, "It is no use complaining about bad luck or lamenting why these things happen to you. You have to make the best of what you have." Complaining or lamenting doesn't change the situation at all.
Complaining or lamenting won't change the situation, and since you cannot change what has already happened, it is better to shift your mindset as quickly as possible, make the most of what you currently have, and think about what you can do.
You will realize that once you decide and start taking action, the things you need will appear exactly when you need them.
Napoleon Hill also has this famous quote:
"Do not wait. The time will never be 'just right.' Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along."
"Do not wait. The perfect opportunity will never come."
It is a famous quote for confession, but the point is not to wait.
On this point, management consultant Kenichi Ohmae also said, "There are cases where it is better to be approximate. As long as the direction is correct, you will often win by acting quickly, even if there are some mistakes." By not waiting until you are perfectly prepared and starting quickly while you have the motivation, your feelings will also change.
If being too cautious makes you focus on reasons to stop and prevents you from starting, try taking action quickly and making improvements as you go after you have started.
Since there is no such thing as a perfect time, start from where you are and start with what you have.
If you do that, better tools will appear along the way.
If you try to do your best with what you have and what is already there, right where you are, it will lead to the future.
Rather than waiting for a place you are not, things you do not have, or things that do not yet exist, you will surely find a path that is more realistic, practical, and leads to faster results.
If there is something you have been hesitating about lately, why not take a moment to look back on it?
"Make the most of what you have, and be least concerned with what you lack." — Sara Teasdale (Author)
You must always keep your gaze forward, toward the future, or you will be dragged down by what is passing away; that is when this perspective becomes necessary.
Focus your eyes more on what is about to begin than on what is coming to an end.
Focus on how you can grow more from here on out, and make the most of where you are, what you have, and what you can do right now, okay?
