[Recommendation for 'Savoring'] Savoring books with a longing at twilight

The things we secretly hold dear.
Even though they certainly exist.
We cannot point to them.
They are not just things that can be seen.
We decipher them one by one.
We express them with care.
And then, we savor the collection of words created in that way.

When I travel
I try walking through
a town I don't know well
I choose
an unknown path
as much as possible
and imagine
what kind of scenery
will unfold
beyond the road
is what
I like

When I travel
I don't carry
a guidebook
I become
bolder than usual
and ask people for directions
and while I'm at it
I also ask them
for good
restaurants

When I travel
I realize
just how
fast time
has been passing
and notice
my own
restless self

Moment by moment
passing by
in our daily lives
how much
convenience
and speed
have I sought

I wonder, looking back
and feeling
a bit down

When I travel
sometimes
like rushing
away
the ordinary
scenes of daily life
are things I remember

Travel
makes them
vivid
Awaken
Things that made me happy
Things left undone

"If there were a hard, high wall and an egg that broke against it, I would always stand on the side of the egg."
Mussorgsky: Pictures at an Exhibition - Ballet of the Unhatched Chicks (Ravel orchestration)
Places I want to go next

is here
"There is nothing like the cherry blossoms standing in a row; who could mistake them for the white clouds on the peaks?" Fujiwara no Teika (*)
Therefore
Let's live to the fullest!
Our
small lives
amidst the fragility
barely
managing to exist

every day
as if traveling
if we live
From the everyday
to the extraordinary
it might change

traveling
living
working
in the everyday
sitting idly
is not the time for that!
Every day is a preparation for a journey

Like the movie 'Roman Holiday'
for a while
of the day
after the adventure
is finished

furthermore
one's own
inner
adventure

I felt like going out

Driven by
an impulse
action

Time to
reclaim myself

Give my all
'It is not that you have a flower in your heart, but that there are many flowers in this world, yet there is only one flower that you cherish'
- From Saint-Exupéry's 'The Little Prince'

Note:
A waka poem dedicated to Kamo Shrine in 1178, when Fujiwara no Teika was 17 years old.
It is not included in the 'Shui Guso' because that collection contains waka poems composed after 1181.
A poem admiring the incomparable beauty of cherry blossoms.
● Jisho 2nd Year Kamo-wakeikazuchi Shrine Poetry Contest, No. 102, 21st Round, Right, Teika
[Interpretation] There is nothing that can compare to the beauty of cherry blossoms. Who could have mistaken them for the white clouds on the mountain peak?
[Appendix] The theme is 'Flowers'.
The left side is Kintoki's poem included in the Senzai Wakashu: 'The thing that dyes the color of the same cherry blossoms year after year is the heart'.
Shunzei's judgment was: 'Left, the sentiment of the poem saying that the thing that dyes the color of the same cherry blossoms is the heart is truly charming'.
The right side says, 'The white clouds on the peak, whose could they be?' which seems like a fine sentiment, but the left poem seems even more remarkable, so perhaps the left should win.
