[Parenting Diary] The story after changing hospitals [Pediatrics]
Good evening, this is Tenko.
A little while ago, I posted about how I changed hospitals after getting fed up with a receptionist who didn't have a single ounce of friendliness.
Feel free to read it if you have some spare time.
It's about what happened after that, what happened after that.
Even for adults, it's rare to change hospitals, but when it comes to a child's hospital, it really makes your palms sweat.
That said, there are really very few pediatricians, and among those few, when I search for other pediatric clinics on Google, because it's a hospital where you're taking your precious child, I end up seeing scathing reviews from other mothers. Of course, since we're all human, there's also the issue of whether or not you'll get along.
I don't take everything at face value, but if there are only good reviews, naturally...
"Wait... this looks good, right?"
That's...
What you think, right? 😌☝🏻
But vaccines have to be given, and I couldn't just sit around worrying, so I changed hospitals and went there right away.
My heart was pounding. My child had no idea what was going on, but as a mother, I couldn't help but think, "What if it's another bad experience?"
Anyway, the first thing I thought when I walked in
"The hospital is so bright!"
Yes, the previous pediatrician's office was dark.
That was a plus point right there. (I'm a lenient grader)
The receptionist was also efficient,
calmly telling me what I needed to do,
like filling out the medical questionnaire, handing over the necessary documents, and taking the temperature.
Hmm, super smooth.
Could this be a winner?... No, no,
the reception was clear, but next is the doctor.
I don't know what might be hidden where, so I'll stay on high alert.
A few minutes later, I was called into the exam room,
and I braced myself.
I quickly summoned my inner samurai and opened the door.
"Nice to meet you."
"Hello there!!☺️
Oh my!!☺️
Nice to meet you!!☺️
Are you feeling nervous??☺️"
What energy, what a smile.
A perfect score.
Chibi-no-suke is almost overwhelmed by the doctor's energy, but he's smiling a little, drawn in by the doctor's smile.
What is this space? I love it.
After a quick check-up,
it's finally time for the vaccine.
I just can't get used to seeing his face when he cries after getting a shot, no matter how many times I see it.
Every time he gets a vaccine, a hellish scene always unfolds where I end up crying right next to him while he cries.
Of course, he has to get them,
but I can't watch that crying face, so full of "I'm so sad," without tearing up.
It makes me cry more than any moving movie.
Doctor: "Alright, you're going to feel a little pinch now. Can you be brave?"
Dr. Hanamaru chatted away as he gave the injection.
...
Doctor: "There! All done! You're so brave! You didn't even cry!!"
Little One: "?"
Tenko: "?!"
My child, are you a genius...?
Doctor: "What a strong kid! You're so brave! You did a great job!!!"
Little One: "(Uheee)"
Tenko cries after all (cries in the end)
I've been there a few times since for vaccines, and
well, he doesn't cry.
The child who used to cry with a runny nose at the previous pediatrician
is smiling...
Dr. Hanamaru, you're amazing (that's a compliment).
I'm so sorry I doubted you, Dr. Hanamaru.
It was a great hospital where both parent and child
could spend time comfortably.
I'll continue to be in your care 🥹☝🏻 Yay! Hanamaru!
By the way, the other kids were crying so hard it echoed all the way to the reception desk.
Compatibility is amazing.
