Someone who accepts you while teasing you is the ultimate confidant

They accept me, but they also throw in a little teasing.
That sense of distance is just right, and it's a very important relationship to me.

They laugh and say, 'You're being all serious again, haha,' but they still listen properly.
Having a best friend like that is what supports me in sharing my thoughts.

The topic of 'I like people who accept me while teasing me' actually came up recently, too.

The other day, when I was feeling a bit down and talking to that best friend of mine,
'Why are you getting so serious? That's not like you (haha). Let's go get a drink,' they said, handing me a beer with a laugh.
In that moment, everything just felt trivial, and my mood instantly lightened.

They listen to what I have to say, but they don't let things get too heavy.
They keep things balanced by teasing. I really find that so helpful.

The more serious the conversation, the more nervous I get if someone listens with a straight face,
so someone who can accept me while laughing is truly precious.
