The reason why my planner was born, and the meaning of continuing to use it
The reason why a planner became an indispensable part of my daily life is that
I couldn't find any other tools
that could support my own life and goals.
This is the reason why I continue to create my own original planners.
Five years of continuing to create planners
Starting with a blank sheet of A4 copy paper
My planner first started with a blank sheet of A4 copy paper.
This is not a metaphor or anything; I was literally using a ruler to handwrite my daily planner on a blank sheet of copy paper.
After doing this for two weeks,
when I looked back at my two weeks of handwritten planners,
I realized that there was a certain pattern.
I refined this pattern, and the beta version of Azusa's planner was completed.
For the first year I started using it, I continued to revise and improve it every month.
From the second year, others started using it too
And as I entered the second year,
my internal pattern approached its final form, and a colleague at my company at the time used my planner,
and in the third year,
someone I am close with in an online community used my planner,
and in the fourth year,
my colleagues at Takumi Inc., where I work now, are using my planner.
Of course, since I am providing the Azusa-style planner almost exactly as it is,
not everyone is able to keep using it,
but a female entrepreneur who used it
told me that by starting to use my planner, writing in a planner became a habit,
and her business expanded significantly,
which was a happy report to receive.
The reason why I use a planner
There are mainly three reasons why I use a planner.
Recording information—to detach memories from myself
To focus on the present
As the first action to convert goals into behavior
Because I know that my brain's memory has limits
As information that I must remember piles up in my work and life,
I began to feel the limits of relying only on my memory.
From there, I decided to use a planner (or rather, a notebook)
to record things as an external storage medium.
Because I wanted to focus on the "now" and use all my energy on what is in front of me
The situation of trying to remember tasks while performing tasks that need to be done
could be called multitasking.
If you want to "fully focus" on what you want to focus on now,you should output the information you need to remember
into a planner, notebook, smartphone memo app,
or a memo app on your PC.
Detaching information from yourself
and focusing on living in the present will significantly increase your productivity.
The first action to convert a vague dream into behavior is always the planner
Let's say you have a vague dream, like "I want to conquer all the Disney parks by the time I'm 50!"
Whether these remain just dreams or lead to actions to make them a reality, if there is a difference, it is "taking the first step."
I use a planner to take this first step.
I put the schedule for that first step into my planner.
By writing it down in my planner as the first step toward making my dream a reality, my dream begins to move toward realization.
Why I create my own planner
My favorite planner went out of print, so I decided to make my own
I am someone who is particularly particular.
Therefore, with commercially available planners, I couldn't find one that felt "just right" for me, thinking things like,
"This planner has a good monthly page, but the rest is unusable,"
"This planner has a good weekly section, but the monthly one is unusable,"
"This planner has a good calendar format, but I don't like the color."
And then, there was a planner whose design and layout I loved, but it went out of print one year.
When my favorite planner went out of print, I felt a great sense of loss.
It was a feeling as if a tool I cherished had become unusable, and a part of my life was missing.
This is the reason why I started making my own planner.
What I realized by making my own planner
Using a planner that suits you, rather than adjusting your usage to a ready-made one
There was a time when I was a "planner gypsy" myself, but it has been five years since I started using my own handmade planner.
My way of thinking has changed completely.
And I realized:
"There is no need for an individual to change their way of life to fit a ready-made planner format
"
・A tool to give dates to actions
・A tool to take the first step toward a dream
・A tool to systematize daily life
・A tool to focus on the "now"
・A tool to attract an ideal future
A planner is an important tool for planning our future and organizing our daily lives.
That is precisely why I will continue to strongly advocate that by keeping the focus on yourself, finding a planner dedicated to you, and using that personalized planner, the quality of your life will improve significantly.
We at LPL believe that just as every person has a precious life,
every person has their own values and way of life,
and there is a planner suitable for each person.
Once again, Life Passport Lab. is your partner in making your dreams a reality.
By sharing how to achieve self-realization using a planner, I want to support your future.
