Slapstick Tokyo Stroll ①
Welcome to the ayamo family's slapstick outing series♡
I want to go to the airport
This time, it all started with this one sentence from my eldest son, who loves airplanes.
My eldest son is currently not attending school. We've been through a lot, but lately, the opportunities for him to go out like this have increased significantly.
For the sake of our precious family time, Mom and Dad are going to do their best while being slapstick again this time!

So, where we've come this time isHaneda Airport!
By the way, we have never actually flown on a plane as a family. But this is our fourth time visiting the airport just for fun (you should really let him ride a plane).
First, we'll take a look at the planes from the observation deck.

The extraordinary feeling of an airport is exciting even for me, someone who isn't particularly interested in airplanes.
Especially the moment of takeoff—it's cool and fun no matter how many times I see it!
I would point and cheer, "Look! It's coming! Over there, over there, look!!" only to realize it was actually a plane landing, which happened about once every four times.
However, the high temperature that day was 30°C.
The observation deck was so hot that if we stayed any longer, we would have turned into a family of dried fish, so we decided to retreat for a bit.
Now then...
The ayamo family, known for always being unplanned.
What should we do now?
While wandering around the airport, one poster caught my eye.
It seems that here at Terminal 1, there is a place where you canexperience a flight simulation. What's that♡
However, we are the typical country bumpkins who came with zero preparation and only momentum.
Can we even get a reservation now? Is there any space available?
But wait!!!
Since it was a weekday, we were able to experience it without waiting too long♡

You can choose between an Airbus or a Boeing, and my eldest son said, "Boeing is the only choice!"
Apparently, even real pilots use it for practice, so it's incredibly realistic and exciting♡
Thinking about how happy my eldest son, who loves airplanes, must be with this... just thinking about it! It's so cute and makes me so happy, I don't know what to do!!!!!
Wait, what should I do? I might finish an entire article just talking about the flight simulator.
And finally. Takeoff!

My eldest son plays airplane games on his computer all the time. Seeing him understand most of the controls and answer the staff's questions smoothly made me feel like I saw a side of him I didn't know. His back looks so reliable!!
The staff member supporting us next to him, and the staff at the reception, were all incredibly friendly and kind...
I was about to start telling them my son's history, which they didn't even ask for, saying, "My child isn't going to school right now, and he was a bit of a shut-in until recently. Actually, we came to Haneda Airport a year ago, but it was really tough back then. It's so moving to see him enjoying himself this much now!!" if they had been just a little bit kinder. That was close.
As for my eldest son, he was overjoyed.
After finishing the experience, he hugged me and said, "I'm so happy and had so much fun, I feel like crying."
I couldn't say things like that to my parents. Whether I was happy, sad, frustrated, or angry, I felt embarrassed to cry.
That's why I'm so happy that my son can talk to me so honestly.

The sunset in the city makes my chest feel tight for some reason.
There are so many different jobs involved in just one airplane or airport. Our lives are supported by so many people.
I'm sure my son, who is usually at home all the time, felt a lot of things firsthand.
The world is vast.
Is it because I'm projecting my son's future onto them that I feel like crying when I watch the planes taking off into the big sky?
Oh no. This was supposed to be a travelogue, but I've already used up my usual article's worth of characters just talking about airplanes and my son.
By the way.

So, my second son tried out the Airbus with my husband. The Airbus has the control stick on the left instead of in front, and it's not as heavy as a Boeing, so even a four-year-old could handle it.
(Sorry for finishing your turn so quickly, second son, I love you)
Our family did the KIDS course (15 minutes for 3,850 yen)!

Three stories: how we still hadn't decided on a hotel, my husband mysteriously buying a bulk load of chocolate souvenirs even though we had another day left, and how we came all the way to Tokyo only to end up having Sukiya for dinner.
Pharrell Williams / It Girl
A fun music video that feels very Japanese. When I go to Tokyo, I'm surprised that even the people working there are mostly foreigners. All the convenience store clerks were foreigners, and even though we were in Japan, I felt like the one who was out of place 😂
