[Performance] Scab Night Parade, Aiming to be an Ogre or Something
In 2023, there was a time I tried to become an ogre. At that time, for me, an ogre was a resignation of 'isn't it enough already,' a stagnation, and the act of pulling the ladder out from between myself and someone else.
Two years have passed since then, and now, I think I am probably pulling the ladder out again, or perhaps having it pulled out from under me. After all, I don't feel like I can live in this world at all. When I resigned myself again and took off the mask, thinking, 'I guess I can only be an ogre after all, it can't be helped,' it turned out that I was already wearing a Hyottoko mask and a dress, and it had become impossible to peel them off.

We will paste and sew the anxieties and vague feelings we hold in our hearts to create masks that visitors will wear on the day of the performance. Let's all nurture 'scab masks' that look like insects or yokai!

With the tie-up of 'Sai no Tsuno' in Ueda City, Nagano Prefecture, the Hyakki Yako (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons) will begin as the 'Scab Night Parade' 👹
Sai no Tsuno is a cafe, a guesthouse, a theater, and also an eaves under which people (including myself) who carry various vague feelings gather.
Thinking again about the meaning of holding a 'Night Parade' here, and the meaning of wearing a mask as an ogre, I associated it with the word 'scab'.
Please come with the feeling of 'I'm just feeling a bit uneasy and can't deal with things,' rather than because it's music or a recital. Of course, the music performed is super cool 👹
