Money Anxiety = The True Identity Was 'I Don't Really Know' | Episode 3
My savings: 200,000 yen.
When I learned that the median savings for a single person in their 30s is 'about 1 million yen',
I was so shocked I was speechless😨
'Will I really be okay like this...❓😢'
I feel like I need to do something, but I don't know what I should do...
👂 Honestly, I asked everyone
Since I couldn't find an answer on my own,
I decided to take the plunge and ask my friends🏃♀️
'How are you thinking about your future?'
'Have you started anything yet?'
It's a pretty private question, but
everyone answered surprisingly well🫶
🤯 Everyone is so different, making me even more confused
・Friends who have started personal pensions
・Friends who have thoroughly reviewed their insurance
・Friends who are strictly into cash savings
・Friends who bought a house
There were friends like me who hadn't started anything, but
'Even among my peers, some are thinking about it seriously...'I felt like
reality hit me all at once😰
And the more I listened,
'Which one suits me, and what should I start with?'
My head became a jumbled mess🌀
📱 YouTube-sensei for when I'm in trouble
So, the next thing I relied on was YouTube-sensei! lol
Since I'm not very good with reading text,
I just kept playing videos about asset formation▶️
What every video had in common was:
'First, let's grasp the money you spend every month'
'Huh? Shouldn't I just start saving by cutting costs right now?'
I thought😂
But looking back,
'Where my precious money disappears to every month'
I had been putting off thinking aboutit, hadn't I?⚡️
💪 Relying on the power of civilization
First, I installed
'Money Forward'which was recommended on YouTube💡
Since I'm bad at managing money, I decided to rely on this honestly🙋♀️
For now, when I registered just one credit card I use mainly...

With color-coding, a screen that shows the percentage of fixed costs at a glance appeared 👀✨
“...Wait, isn't the percentage for my phone bill a bit high?”
“Did I really buy this many clothes this month!?”
And then, I suddenly realized.
The expenses I thought were “little treats”
add up to quite a lot 😂
No wonder I couldn't save money, I thought to myself
while laughing alone at the screen! 💣
💡 Answer: The true identity of the anxiety wasn't “money,” but “not knowing.”
At that moment, I understood clearly.
The reason I was anxious
wasn't because I didn't have enough money,
“it was because I didn't know anything about my own cash flow.”
I was spending money without tracking it and worrying about the future 🤦♀️
It was like walking down a dark road without a map 💦
Looking back, I can see why I was anxious.
✏️ The smallest step you can take today
When you're anxious, start by “tracking” ✨
👉 Install a household account book app and take a look
👉 Write down your fixed costs like rent, phone bills, and subscriptions
Handwritten, a memo app, any method is fine 💗
For those of us who are lazy, apps are the way to go ⭕️😆
“About how much do I spend every month?”
Just by seeing this,
your anxiety will start to get “organized” 📝
It was the same for me, but just by “taking that first step”,
your mind will definitely feel lighter.
If you've read this far and
“maybe I'll give it a try,” then you are
surely someone who can truly change 🫶
Let's take a small step forward together🌷
🌷 Next Episode Preview: I underestimated my '500 yen per month subscription'
Next time, I'll talk about how the moment I looked at the monthly cost as an annual cost,
my perspective on money changed completely👀
It's a small realization, but
this was truly a major turning point☝️
I would be happy if you could support me with a ♡☺️
If anyone has tried reviewing their household budget,
please let me know in the comments🎀
