014: [Run, Curiosity] A letter from myself a year ago was kinder than I expected, and it made me cry a little
This is a series where I follow my curiosity and do whatever catches my interest.
And then, I leave it here. Small things, trivial things, anything goes. I would be happy if this could serve as a hint for things you want to do or give someone a little push.
Just do what you want to do. Today, I'm running, pulled along by my curiosity.

A letter from myself a year ago was kinder than I expected, and it made me cry a little
A letter from myself arrived just when I had completely forgotten about it.
It's a letter from my past self, written a year ago at an event for the Tokimeki (Heart-throb) Division.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 1 Year Ago ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
December 15, 2024, a corner on the 4th floor of LUCUA 1100.
The Delusion Shop of the Tokimeki Division.
Choose your favorite postcards, as many as you like, write whatever you want, or just draw illustrations. Write freely.
The letter was sealed with a stylish wax seal. Being able to choose the color myself was also a 'tokimeki' (heart-throb) point.
I took a smiling photo in front of the mailbox, but I'll omit it here.
Thoughts on the letter from a year ago
What kind of words did my self from a year ago leave behind? I didn't have the courage to face them, so about three weeks passed.
Well, I decided to just open it, telling myself that whether it lifts my spirits or brings me down, I can just use it as material for a note.
Opening the letter
I can picture myself greedily picking up postcards with various patterns.
Hey, if you haven't planned an event yet, do it right now!
If you're worried, talk to someone!
Do what you want to do right away!
You tend to feel like you haven't done anything at all, but you've done so much, so look back at your photos!
If you have the chance, volunteer at a place like this!
โ I held a talk event, and while it's not a project, I'm participating in a ZINE festival.
Last November, I volunteered at KITAKAGAYA FLEA.
To my future self
Are you enjoying your 35th year?
2025 is already over, isn't it ๐ข
I intended to work hard in 2024 and spend 2025, but how was it?
Tell me what you were one step away from!
<______________________________________________________>
I don't have any particular regrets from 2024, but โ
There are many things I feel I didn't do enough of.
Living alone, my career... But I'm sure if I try any of them, I can actually do them.
I hope my future self is enjoying the present too.
Also, if you're not talking about marriage now, why not break up and go abroad?
I think 35 is definitely a turning point!
Let's definitely, definitely make it a great year ๐
โ What I was one step away from was, 'I wanted to change jobs or move, but I ended up staying where I am.'
I didn't go abroad, but I did break up. Let's make this a good year!
Excerpt
What are some things you want to have changed and things you don't want to have changed a year from now?
Things that won't change: A positive attitude. Always chasing after fun.
Things that will change: Where I live
I'm sure you've had all sorts of things happen this year, both good and not so good, but if you could say something to yourself a year from now, what would you write?
I'm actually quite positive, so even when I worry, I find it's resolved before I know it ๐ It's okay!!!
โ It's my own words, but 'I'm actually quite positive, so even when I worry, I find it's resolved before I know it ๐ It's okay!!!' is nice.
Not 'I'm sure it'll be okay,' but 'It's always been okay until now.'
The past me believed in the future me, didn't she? Thank you.
What I thought after reading the letter is that 'after all, I am me.'
I suppose my emotions will be shaken many times. Happy things, sad things, fun things, and bittersweet things.
But I believe I have the strength to get back up no matter how many times I fall.
It was a letter that made me feel that I believe in myself somewhere in my heart.
