Up until now, I have been blessed with opportunities for financial support, such as prize money from the APPLE VINEGAR Music Award and other scholarships. I don't think I could have focused on production and created my work without them. Continuing to produce under budget constraints is very painful. To be honest, I am extremely afraid of failing during production and the additional costs that would incur as a result. I have been afraid for 10 years straight. When I heard about a 'place where you can freely fail and challenge yourself as many times as you want,' I couldn't help but look forward to it, thinking about how much peace of mind it would bring to so many musicians if such a dream-like place existed, and what kind of sound the works created freely within it would have. Go for it, Gotoh-san!!! And thank you!!! Let's build this dream-like place together!!!

Why is it that even though record companies hold the rights to the recorded works themselves (master rights), we feel as if their mounting expenses are our own responsibility? I have had similar experiences myself. When I have to cancel a studio session due to poor health, or when an ensemble doesn't quite click and the recording has to be pushed to the next day, I am plagued by an indescribable sense of debt. For those working at their own expense, that emotional burden is accompanied by actual financial costs. There are several curse-like thoughts rolling around between money and art, and I, Lovely Summer-chan, and surely many others, have had our spirits worn down to some extent.
I may not be able to completely break those curses, but I will do my best to make this a place where we can think together, support each other, talk things through, and lighten the load on our shoulders so we can face our creative work.
