I tried drawing a cat with a pencil!
Hello, and welcome to Non's little atelier.
Thank you so much for choosing to read this among the many articles out there!
I'm still feeling a bit nervous as I upload this!
Today, I've drawn a picture of a cat with a pencil, so I'm posting it here.
Please take a look!

while cautiously checking out the surroundings.
During the Obon holidays, I visited an acquaintance's house.
And there, I found some adorable cats.
They were so cute that I couldn't help but take lots of photos,
and I decided to draw one of those cats
using a pencil.
This cat is very cautious, and although it was very interested
in the laughter coming from the living room where many people
other than its owners were gathered, it was too cautious
to come out from the back of the room.
I tried to capture the image of this shy little one in a pencil drawing.

But, I wonder if it's a little scary...
Still, maybe I'll take a peek...
For the pencil, I used a Staedtler Lumograph.
I used 6H, 4H, 2H, HB, 2B, 4B, and 6B.
Since its fur is a whitish color, I drew it with light gray tones overall.
I tried to make the body lines stand out using shadows falling around the cat,
but what do you think??
I used a kneaded eraser, tissue, and a blending stump.
I drew the fur with a light, hard pencil and blended it a little.
Drawing a whitish cat was difficult.
Also, does the feeling of this cautious and shy little one come across?
I will continue to upload my work little by little as I finish it.
Please come back and peek into this atelier again.
