Sanchu [Introducing Our Cats Part 4]
This time, I would like to introduce the fourth cat at Atoka, Sanchu.
He works hard every day at Atoka as a customer service representative.
I will share the story of how we came to adopt Sanchu, what he is good at, and more!
Friendly from the start

Mixed breed, male, 4 years old.
In November 2016, shortly after we opened our pension, we received him through a friend from someone who was looking for a foster home, after he had passed through several hands.
The family brought him to the pension, and I will never forget the look of reluctance on the face of their elementary school-aged daughter when they said goodbye.
He was truly active and friendly from the very beginning, and he settled into our home in an instant.
He was surprisingly comfortable with people, and while it is partly his personality, it was clear that the family who gave him to us had raised him with a lot of love.

(He had no resistance to children from the very first day)
Sanchu also approached our existing cats without fear, closing the distance and initiating contact himself.
He also warmed up to our family immediately.
As you might have guessed, his name comes from the vegetable "sanchu" (lettuce) used to wrap meat at yakiniku restaurants. My wife named him.
He just loves people

(It is rare to find a cat that loves people this much)
With that, he quickly got used to our home, and his life of interacting with guests began while he was still a kitten.
This is where his natural talent for loving people really exploded.
He is a cat who seems born for a cat inn, always playing with guests who arrive and sleeping by their side.
Sanchu has charmed many cat lovers over the years.
Regular guests who knew Sanchu when he was a kitten have been warmly watching him grow up.
Dan as his mentor

(Dan accompanying Sanchu)
Looking back at the photos, I see many pictures of him with Dan, and I realize he taught him the ropes of being a cat.
Sanchu loves humans, but he also loves other cats.
Because of this, he is interested in every cat and keeps approaching them to play.
Since cats are not pack animals, there is a possibility that this persistence is seen as annoying lol
However, he doesn't get into fights outside, and although he is a male, he has never had any major injuries. He is a pacifist.
Becoming a signboard cat for the pension

(Sanchu on the cover of a cat book!)
Sanchu has walked alongside the history of the pension. The number of guests he has played with is quite significant.
In the recently published cat book 'Handmade Book for Living with Cats,' he even graced the cover as a cat model.
His presence as a signboard cat has grown, and he goes around visiting guests' rooms so much that it makes you wonder if he is really a cat.
Always together

For our family, Sanchu is the cat we spend the most time with.
Since she loves being at home, she is a stay-at-home cat.
She can be a bit lonely and selfish at times, but
she is such a good girl, so please continue to look after her.
In the next cat introduction, I will introduce Motsu.
Please come back again.
