Five-Line Thought (463) - The Demon of Relativity -
Let's call the happiness we feel by comparing ourselves to others relative happiness. Relative happiness doesn't last long. Yet, relative unhappiness lasts a long time. The only way to resolve it is for the other person to become unhappy or for you to become happier than them. In other words, you shouldn't compare yourself to others. Don't become a demon who wishes for the misfortune of others.
